Android 9 Pie review

08 August 2018
Android 9 is officially here and we would be remiss not to mention our slight disappointment at the Pie moniker. Don't get us wrong, pie sounds perfectly mouth-watering and playful, but perhaps just a bit too plain for an Android name? Considering the track record, that is. Also, not using the π symbol, just seems like a massive missed opportunity.

So how is Android P really going turn me on if all I do is make calls, sms, MM(sometimes), browsing, Facebook, Twitter, Watch video, check email, calendar and bet online. Not a gamer and not crazy about taking photos and vids.

Very ugly recent app interface..At least make the cards back to each other like ios not like that..Is almost same as Xiaomi miui recent app but the cards is a little bigger...Right now the best recent apps interface and animation of recent apps is from ios..

Whatever under-the-hood improvements are made, back-to-KitKat retrogression of app switcher bugs me. I've been using Pie since Bata and I just hate it..
And why on earth does the split screen need to three taps instead of previously one longtap? Come on!

The only thing I really enjoy is Digital Wellbeing tool and that's it.

Expecting Google to fix some issues found in ANDROID PIE currently in the next few Security Patch Updates. Somewhat similar to ANDROID OREO, performance and battery life take its toll when it got released. Unlocking the smartphone using its fingerprint sensor shown lag and delays, smartphone heating up and throttle unusually, battery life draining faster than ever. But some of these issues are caused by the November Security Update. After a few Security Patch Update, we see improvements on ANDROID OREO, with these issues fixed. I'm very sure that Google will do this again and hopefully fix ANDROID PIE

I have gesture navigation since jellybean 4.1.
Background processes are almost non-existent on my devices, and on certain ones I could selectivity block their access to web down to certain sites/servers/ports (yes, ad servers included).

But this brings it to mainstream users.
Also, the note should benefit from some extras here and there. I can't tell which, but at least the longer app support for people who keep the devices 4+ years like me ;)

                  perhaps, Peanut butter sounds better?

                        heres a TLDR opinion
no performance tweak of any sort and only slight better UI layout which my Samsung overlay is waay better and can do more with my spen, Android P is a waste of time for me.
this AnD. P are for those android purist, I am already using some of those "new" layout on my Note years ago dude !

Chrome just needs to be optimised for Pie and it'll be better than Oreo.

I've noticed a few hiccups on my Pixel running Pie but like Oreo. When its 9.1 then it'll be safe to update. Pie is still a work in progress. Fragmentation will ALWAYS exist on Android. Google can't make people upgrade to Oreo devices supporting treble and even then some OEMs don't work hard enough to update stuff and properly test their software. I'm looking at you Samsung!

The moments when the broken deployment of Android updates actually saves the masses.
This looks like a beta. Everything is slower and battery life is worse despite a new fancy battery saver? At least it looks different. Yay?
