Xiaomi Mi Max 3 review

25 August 2018
Remember when people made fun of the original Samsung Galaxy Note and its "humungous" 5.3-inch display? Oh, how the times have changed. Still, have we really come to a point where a 6.9 inch diagonal behemoth is able to avoid the "tablet" category and stretch the already confusing phablet category even further?

        Mi Max 3 5500mAh: 115h endurancce rating

with screen size differing only 0.72" and the same display technology, it's quite surprising to see how much more efficient SD845 compared to SD636, as Qualcomm once said that their flagship tier is more efficient than anything below.

Imperator Neubaticus, 26 Aug 2018Not bang for the buck. The mi max is a much smarter option. what are you talking about, this is a mi max

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2018Prefer 16:9, but don't get why 18:9 became mainstream. Its not that bad its close to 21:9 ratio which is cinema ratio and you can change the aspect ratio of movies you are watching to 18:9

A rather very disappointing. Two generations & two years only to match performance & battery stamina of the first Max. Ain't going to get one.

dvdivx, 26 Aug 2018This is why Xiaomi and Huawei are still second rate at best... moreBecause the north american market is not a priority. Their own chinese market is more important, as well as the markets of neighboring continents. They're taking it slow but strategically. The US can wait. It's not as big an economy as it likes to think.

This is why Xiaomi and Huawei are still second rate at best:
                              LTE bands supported:
                              Mi Max 3: 1,3,4,5,7,8,20,34,38,39,40,41
Now lets see what that supports based on Wikipedia and frequencycheck
North America 2,3,4,5,7,12,13,17,29,30,40,41,42,66,71 Sprint only (25,26)
                              South America 1,2,3,4,7,13,17,28,38,42
                              Africa 1,3,7,8,20,28,38,40,41,42
                              Europe 1,3,7,8,20,28,31,32,38,40
                              China-India 1,3,5,8,38,39,40,41
                              Middle East 1,3,7,20,28,38,40,42
                              Australia- NZ 1,3,5,7,28,40
                              Asia 1,2,3,5,7,8,20,28,31,40,41
                              Japan 1,8,9,11,18,19,21,28,41

Sadly not much now compared to other phones:

                              Apple iphone8 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,11,12,13,17,18,19,20,21,25,26,28,29,30,34,38,39,40,41,42,66
                              Samsung s9 (us model) 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,14,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,30,32,38,39,40,41,46,66,71
                              Asus ROG 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,28,29,32,34,38,39,40,41,46
Google Pixel 2 XL Global 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,20,25,26,28,29,30,32,38,40,41,66

It's almost like they just dont want to sell phones world wide. Better than the first one but still a long way to go.

I really like this device as a media consumption phone, good job xiaomi!

Been waiting for this for a long time, but now that Poco F1 is released out of the blue I'll get that one instead.
Good device, not as good as the Poco though.
