Asus Zenfone 5z review

01 September 2018
The Asus ZenFone 5Z has been around for some time now. Flagship ZenFone series devices have been known to border on the excess in the past, and while some of that may have become par for the course for flagship Android phones these days, the ZenFone 5Z leaves no stone unturned and comes with all the proverbial bells and whistles. As with previous ZenFone flagships, it is also priced exceedingly well positioning it squarely between the Poco F1 and the OnePlus 6 but is that really the whole story? Let’s find out.

Very good overall device with headphone jack and expandable storage. However the price is very high compared to mi8 and poco which can be found for 150$ less. That is 30‰ more.

[deleted post]I wouldn't call it bias, more like fondness. I know Asus has great stuff. So either three things happened. Either they were just trying to get this review out of the way, or they got a defective unit, or the phone is not up to their standards

Camera worse than OP? Well that's a bummer. I thought OP was the worst.

                No lab tests. Boo

I am corious about the "Too much bloatware". Seriously?

underappreciated review of an "underappreciated" phone.

Don't agree with the camera performance. It's really good. And what's up with the build. It's well build premium. This is best deal

GreatWaff, 01 Sep 2018At long last! Very late but it's actually here. Would've re... moreThe stereo speakers and expandable storage already make this that much more competitive, especially with it being cheaper. OnePlus gotta step it up from just software and OLED being the better stuff on their phones for more money

Who is reviewing this phone ? Did he have any experience of using Asus company phones ? Poco F1 has more bloatware and ads in it's system apps. My old Asus Zenfone 3 was launched with marshmallow and now running oreo. They are late in giving updates but they never deny the Android updates like Xiaomi does. Coming to the usuage of the phone, it is beast in processing and beauty in design. The camera works pretty well not so underwhelming. Front camera is not that great I can agree. The latest software update increased the performance very well. About benchmarks it's close to the phones with SD845. it has better display, better stereo speakers and many others features which is not there in Poco. In my country Poco 6/128 is marginally cheaper than Asus 5z. I'm happy that I've chosen 5z over Poco.

At long last! Very late but it's actually here. Would've really liked a full lab test review to compare it in numbers to the competition with numbers but it was nicely covered. OnePlus should start adding the power of a useable second camera, at least

This phone deserves a proper review. No battery life details , no camera comparison list , no 3d view. Already a very late review made on purpose made my gsmarena. This is a best phone made by asus which is on par with much high priced oneplus 6.

This rewiew is not true. Asus Zenfone 5z is better phone , what OP6, Poco F1,. th camera's photos better. The loudspeakers are wonderfull stereo. High clear, dynamica. Plus the best FM radio, with RDS. Voice, IPS panel the best in the World now! Not satisfaction this rewiew.

This review is too late. I also disagree about it being inferior to OnePlus 6. In my opinion it's the other way around. Anyways, good to see Asus making great phones again. :D

                                        Thanks for the review :)
Although I feel it deserved a full-type review considering this is the first Asus to be reviewed since forever.
