Sony Xperia XZ3 review

Few phones can claim they caused quite as big of a stir as the Xperia XZ3. After Sony dropped its first curved OLED Xperia, seemingly out of the blue at IFA 2018, reactions have ranged from overwhelming excitement, through confusion and all the way to denial and anger. That's a level of drama typically reserved for soap operas or celebrity gossip and it all spells out one thing - a massive wave of exposure for Sony.

Hey tell ya what, Xperia Z2 camera really shines above any new flagships too, xcept P20Pro, just due to sheer higher numbers, no 12 mpx cam can match 23 mpx in quality...it is just too obviousand factual by sheer number count.

      If you are educated and have even the slightest commonsense then go read the review of GSM arena, they are far more credible than this random youtuber.

        And my point is that using 1/8s of shutter speed without introducing blur is almost impossible to achieve if a phone does not feature OIS. This is why phones like P20 Pro limits the maximum shutter speed at 1/17s, only using longer shutter speed in pitch black conditions. In handheld XZ3 will be forced to use roughly twice as high ISO to compensate for faster shutter speed, which result in loss of details and increase in noise. This might not become a problem as long as the pixel size is decently large or the software processing is mature enough, but Sony phones aren't known for good software processing, so this must tell you something.

        "So let's talk about real world performance"
        GSMArena's test is based on an assumption that any phone uses exactly the same exposure settings in both handheld and on tripod. If a phone doesn't follow the assumption, then that means that the performance shown in the comparison chart is not the true representation of its real life camera performance, where every photo is taken in handheld. It shouldn't be that hard to understand?

Funny thing is they are judging which display is better by looking at a recorded video on Youtube which they are watching on an LCD screen LOL.
              oh FYI that poled LG display had a ton of issues. Google LG OLED issues.
              I'm thinking these guys are employed by Sony with a purpose to bash Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus.. or I should say any other brand which is not Sony.
              They don't even know that the processor used to power their beloved Xperia is manufactured by Samsung, yes Sammy manufactures Snapdragon 835, 845. So the heart of every Xperia is infact Samsung.

Matthew Moniz clearly stated at beginning in his video that he used manual mode on both devices. And Because 99% people use auto mode which involves a lot more advanced processing, his comparison doesn't represent the real world performance at all.

                2. Phone Battles' previous username was "Xperia Fan" and owns more Sony phones than those from other brands, so expect some bias towards Sony at this point. And unsurprisingly, he didn't test out the low light performance in 4K, where Note 9 can be actually ahead of XZ2 Premium simply due to wider aperture lens and more photosensitive sensor.

                3. I don't understand Chinese and in his comparison there's a possibility that he had used manual mode just like Matthew Moniz did, which, again, would lead to inaccurate results. For instance HDR is clearly not working on Note 9 in some cases for unknown reason.
                And since his videos always come with both English and Chinese, I'll just wait for the English version to come out.

The absolute colour accuracy or brightness, however, are not based on opinion, but based on the facts and numbers... and that's where Samsung's panel truly shines. And that's the only objective way to measure the absolute display quality.

                                The guy in your video clearly says that xz3 is almost identical to the samsung galaxy. And The design is absolutely samsung-oriented.
                                He also says the "sony logo" on the bottom side is annoying, it should be put on the back. He also said he hate its prinstalled bloatwares like "ps app" and "avg antivirus".
                                He says xz3 a good phone and the best phone compared to all previus sony's flagships, but compared to Samsung galaxy... he says samsung is still many steps ahead of sony.

But they also have sm... moreYou should know already, 1..they use better sensor tech (triple layer since about Z5) which produces better colors than one with bigger pixels/aperture, 2..multi-aspect sensor makes wide shots of 2 times the size(that is if you don't shoot still in 4:3 then watch on 16:9,18:9 21:9 screen), 3..even if not the fastest, their focusing is fast enough and with predictive focusing even faster in some scenarios, 4.. their EIS does about the same in low light (there are samples here on gsma if its hard to believe), 5..as seen by samsung move to slower lens, they are meaningful and even if sony use one lenses, they are good in day or night(as seen).
                                      You don't need even brain to answer that, just google...next time.
