Sony Xperia XZ3 review

Few phones can claim they caused quite as big of a stir as the Xperia XZ3. After Sony dropped its first curved OLED Xperia, seemingly out of the blue at IFA 2018, reactions have ranged from overwhelming excitement, through confusion and all the way to denial and anger. That's a level of drama typically reserved for soap operas or celebrity gossip and it all spells out one thing - a massive wave of exposure for Sony.

according to gsmarena the XZ3 does not have HDR is just your imagination and the s9 with 370 nits and a screen pentile of 8 bits sdr if

        But that "random yt video" is best test compare if the two screens in question, as of yet. And yes, in all fairness, that XZ3 screen looks better from it.
        If you deny it, you need an eye check.
        But I certainly wont be buying this phone, exactly because of lousy oled Galaxy screen design.

              Check the Phone Arena test ( color chart). XZ2 has the widest gamut of all phones.

Sony fanboys were trashing S9 for having a "fragile" curved "crapoled" display which will "wear out" and "burn in" after time, but after Sony decided to use essentially the worse version of S9's AMOLED panel, they are now acting as if it's the best display on smartphones while ignoring all the "cons" they were shouting out loud. And now Tann and Memory are bragging how XZ3's display looks better than the one on Note 9 based on some random Youtube videos.

In that f... moreAnd you should've noticed before commenting that XZ3 uses far slower shutter speed in order to keep the ISO low. This is resulted by the special mode on Xperia flagships which is automatically activated when the phone is fixed on a tripod. In handheld(=real life usage), the camera does far worse than what's on the comparison chart, which already look extremely noisy and oversharpened.

                          Look at the photo compare tool yourself. In that five dollar, you can hardly read the letters on the note9 and p20 pro while its very sharp on the xz3.

Not only the glass is curved but the corners of the screen are also curved. I remember when this memory guy said how content gets cut off on the edges of Samsung's screens? well, what happened now? he seems to have fallen in love with the Samsung's design language lol
