Anonymous, 01 Oct 2018I would love to know how even P9 does the same of Xz2 Premi... moreBecause it's not "the same", there's different precisions and different algorithms that run with different efficiency on different hardware yielding different results and its very hard to comment on any of the underlying mechanisms because nobody discloses them.
Just for single camera multiframe HDR you have Apple's and Google's and they behave very differently, and then you have Adobe's which merges only 2(or 3) exposures, certainly the least in number but the slowest to process(10s+) and yields the highest in DR, and retains maximum detail (as long as your hands are steady).

One thing is missing for such an expensive phone: under display fingerprint scanner. Overall, it's a great phone.

Well, it's a great smartphone, I shouldn't be expecting anything lesser than that. Can't really say much though, it's basically a improved iPHONE X that's bigger. I really like the gold color, something I don't see that often for smartphones. Of course, some parts of the iPHONE needs improvement, I'm fine with the design, as long as it doesn't stay for too long in the game. Oh yeah the USB version, I hope Apple can update it to USB 3.1 in their next iPHONEs. And also the display resolution, while most people wouldn't notice it, it's a little unusual

Dear GSM arena
I think you should do your audio test even if the DAC is still outside of the phone, the frequencies characteristics will depend on DAC but the loudness level will still depend on the amp power which is still inside the phone. Believe me the loudness level is as important as the flat frequency curve. Also there must be an internal DAC inside iphone x for the internal speakers right? :)

Apple's Arrogant Silence Surrounds Major iPhone XS Problem
Apple’s response to the rising volume around the inability to charge their new iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max is a timely reminder of Apple’s ability to communicate with its customers outside of a tightly controlled invite-only launch event.
Forbes’ Gordon Kelly reported on the issue this weekend, working with Unbox Therapy’s Lewis Hilsenteger to present the results to the world
[Hilsenteger] told me of “hundreds” of posts detailing a phenomenon whereby the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max won’t charge if they are plugged into a wall charger when in standby. Moreover, some of the phones become frozen and have to be reset.
Curious about how widespread this is, Hilsenteger attained eight iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models and connected them to the standard charger Apple bundles in the box. Of the eight only two (one iPhone XS, one iPhone XS Max) worked correctly and charged from standby.
The news has been public for over 48 hours as of the publication of this article, and Apple has refused to comment to its customers or to the world’s press, including the BBC:
Apple has remained silent amid complaints that its new iPhone XS and XS Max smartphones fail to charge consistently when plugged in…
Apple has not yet responded to the BBC’s request for comment.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2018some of the negative comments are valid if we must be hones... moreAbout that beauty thing... it appears that there are less details on iPhone XS' selfie camera than on iPhone X or Android devices, because Smart HDR aggressively recovers highlight and shadow details and as a result the image loses local contrast. The amount of details captured by iPhone XS' selfie camera is actually higher than by most other phones', but since it has less contrast between bright and dark parts of your face, you're tricking yourself into thinking that the details have been "smoothened out". iPhone X had tons of clarity(=local contrast) going on to make your skin look sharper and more detailed, it's just Apple decided not to do that anymore.
In low light it has to smoothen out the details by actual noise reduction because, you know, its sensor is a lot smaller compared to the main sensor on the back, so much higher amount of noise is generated as ISO increases. But you can say the same thing for selfie cameras on every single smartphone in the market right now.
And as for the charging gate, it has been fixed in iOS 12.1 update so no longer an issue here. Of course, this is something Apple should've dealt with before even releasing the actual phone to the market, but at least it's gone now.

CALLCENTERMANIAC, 02 Oct 2018When you say the most expensive, what you mean?, as far as ... moreThe iPhone XS & XS Max are mainstream phones. The Huawei Mate Rs is not a mainstream phone. It is a Porsche branded luxury phone for a specific group of rich entitled people &/or Porsche fans.
It is not ok for a mainstream phone to be priced like a luxury one...

second, because usually is the high end products that pays research and inovation.
having 5% margins wont let you go far if all your products have that percentage.
third, people that CAN pay this kinda of products are used to them, it's hard to go back.
four, 40.000 speakers to people that make that money a day is not a big deal, so why go for a 4k speakers?
rest of us the 98%, there are some that cries about it, and others who want's to join the 2% and do something about it. who are you?

androfox, 02 Oct 2018I have once spent 1500€ on a laptop. It was made by apple. ... moreThat's because price and quality don't have a linear increase. Once you reach a certain point, the price doubles for say a 10% increase in performance and other features.
Above this threshold, the price again doubles, for another 5% increase in performance and features.
So you would end up paying 4x the price for only a 15% increase in performance and features. That's how premium, top-of-the-line products are made and that's the price one needs to pay for that.
A pair of high fidelity speakers totaling $40.000 is not going to be 10x better or 10x louder than a $4.000 pair of speakers.
A $20.000 professional digital camera is not 10x better than a $2.000 DSLR.
Past a certain point, every 1% increase in performance will increase the price exponentially.

Here is what are gonna happen:
Apple will never acknowledge iPhone's issues.
Apple sheeps will still buy iPhones
Average consumers who don't have any idea about techs but can afford iphone will still buy iphones.
Android fans and crybabies will keep commenting that iphone sucks on every iphone related article and videos.
I will keep enjoying both iOS and Android (iphone x and one plus 5t)
Life will go on...
