just regular camera on the front, makes you think why Google designer put that biggest notch of all time. man, the front is ugly as hell. I guess the production of this XL will stop in a few months because only few gonna buy this.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2018Iphone 8 can't even beat pixel 2 on performance and camera.... moreNot sure where you got your information from, bro... but real-life tests show the iPhone 8 is better than pixel 2. And benchmarks show that as well.
Judging by benchmark scores so far, the iPhone 8 trashes pixe 3 as well.

I would buy the Pixel 3 XL if Google could find a way (and implement) to delegate the notification icons, battery charge time, etc.. to the areas adjacent to the notch. This should be done at all times, whether in portrait or landscape.
-> Basically make that area of the screen permanently used to display those icons. Then you would consistently have a beautiful 6inch display, with no cutouts/awkwardness/eyesores, and all the other app developers would not have to modify their apps to deal with the nasty notch. And you would be making use of that screen real-estate. Their current solution of just blacking it out without any other use is lazy and stupid (and acknowledging that their product's design sucks).

IMO not worth wasting money on this. Pretty bad design, low specs, nothing special...
Better off getting an iPhone 8 which mops the floor with this one in all aspects. Especially performance, camera, OS.

Wow that camera. The Pixel 2 really annoyed me with how it flattened out details like a miscalibrated smart TV set to smooth out digital noise too strongly. I can see the dust on your watch with the Pixel 3, and it's just solid gone on the 2. Finally! Nice.

I checked the photos and compared then with the Pixel 2 that you took, side by side, and I could not notice any difference the Pixel 2 had a hair less noise, arguably, in certain situations.
Right now the cameras seem unfinished. Either they improve vastly with the promised firmware update they mentioned, or having the same regurgitated camera hardware for another edition of the Pixel keeps the photo quality stagnant. Also, I saw jitters in a few of the videos posted online (some on the Terrence Mallick video too), which looks like the stabilization is too heavy handed, for the the EIS.
A lot of the hardware and design change is either the same, with absolutely nonchangebor even refinement, it take a huge step backward (like on the notch).
I am not sure what Google were thinking.

mojojojo, 11 Oct 2018nah. everyone jump on the bandwagon hating the notch just b... moreSo true, back then these jokers were bashing HTC and Sony for having bigger bezels than Samsung, now notches are in and they hate that too. Razer has probably one of the largest bezels in a phone model to date, yet they rejoicing. Hypocrites.
Honestly there are a lot of entitled brats who won't be satisfied by nothing.

Alorica, 11 Oct 2018honestly though how many times are you going to purchase 4... moreYou're obviously a Facebook and Youtube only user. No amount of explanation from Google or from you will justify a $1,000 phone that only has 128GB maximum storage option and zero micro sd card expansion. 4K videos captured from the phone's 4K camera alone will fill it in no time. Do you know a high quality 1-minute 4K 60fps video consumes 2GB per minute of footage? And they look absolutely marvelous on a 65" 4K UHD or larger tv, Do you really even bother to capture memorable events and occasions and watch them on 4K UHD tv? You don't have high quality movie and music collection? Just because I can afford all the mobile and wifi data I want doesn't mean I'm going to waste that data and waste time uploading and downloading videos and personal media files to the cloud. What? You want me to pay for something that exposes my personal files to seasoned international hackers? Do you even know what you are saying? Go get a feature phone.

Nick, 10 Oct 20184 gb ram is a big no for flagships today...6+ram is the way... moreRam is honestly overrated try the phone out for yourself to see how truly fast, snappy and fluid the OS is. 4GB is plenty I have a Pixel 2 XL have 10-15 apps running in the background and it still performs as fast when I purchased the phone.
iPhone never focuses on RAM because it's honestly not that important 4GB is plenty 8 GB is overkill it's a phone you have not a computer. 4GB-8GB of RAM is what you find in a standard computer if you want to make the comparison you're carrying a smart phone not a computer around.
Just because Flagships focus so hard on RAM is because Sheep's like you eat it up and just bash on a phones perform just based on spec sheets.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018Cloud storage? You want me to waste data and pay for excess... morehonestly though how many times are you going to purchase 4k movies to watch on your phone be realistic, It's a smart phone not a home theatre. if you're gone download movies illegally usually people delete them right after you watch them. if you have money to purchase 4K movies you have time and money to purchase a decent data plan, IF YOU'RE going to pay 2,000$ for a 512GB iPhone you clearly have money to purchase a subscription, PIXEL phones alone get free Cloud storage which is far better and has UNLIMITED KEYWORD. then a measly 512GB. people are so caught up on GB they don't see other great features with phones
be actually logical with the device make most people don't even use up the full 64GB of regular phones. do not kid yourself. before you hate on a great product try it out, its fast, has great battery life and has the best stock android simplicity is key.

mojojojo, 11 Oct 2018nah. everyone jump on the bandwagon hating the notch just b... moreThing is though, Google didn't need to go with the notch. Razer went with two big bezels to have gigantic speakers for more immersion. Google went with the notch and didn't implement it in a different way or made it better. I personally like small notches, but the Google one is just too big dude
