Nokia 7.1 review

24 October 2018
They say third time's a charm and indeed HMD did right by Nokia's legacy. Once the behemoth of the whole industry, it deteriorated to oblivion, only to be resurrected by Microsoft, and then fall again. Android One turned out to be the platform for Nokia to thrive once more and the latest Nokia 7.1 is the perfect example of how well things are going.

Though the phone has no OIS to handle low lights scene..Im quite impressed with last 2 night shot ..its clean and detailed..it shows that hmd has a lot of potential to deal with on their upcoming line up of smartphone.

Not in Europe, apparently we are stuck with 3/32. Can you please find out if the 4/64 is coming to Europe?

                Pros
                -Great HDR display
                -Dependable battery with fast charging
                -Lightweight glass design
                -Very good all-round camera experience
                -Class-leading portraits
                -3.5mm jack
                -microsd slot (albeit hybrid)
                -Less intrusive NOTCH

                Cons
                -No 60fps video recording
                -The selfies aren't that great
-Water, or at least splash resistance would have been nice to have
-Screen display would be much better without the NOTCH

Lack of notification LED should be listed as a con. It's a dealbreaker for me.

A really generic device. This Chinese company doesn't seem to have the faintest idea what they're doing.

I think most people commented about the chin of this phone being particularly large and unpleasant when it was first announced. It's almost suspicious how it wasn't even mentioned in this review.

Yes, HMD is not the Nokia company of the past, and they bought the brand, but HMD is like Nokia in spirit, as they are located right across the street from the previous Nokia headquarters, and they were started by the former employees of Nokia.

Don't care for HDR display with poor sunlight legibility.

That's completely wrong. HMD didn't exist a decade ago.
