Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) review

9 November 2018
Isn't the Samsung A-series just a royal mess - even numbers, odd numbers, pluses sprinkled here and there, and a year stamp to top it all off. Let's go ahead and see what the Galaxy A7 (2018) is exactly and who it's for.

I purchased this phone and everything work well it just automatically turns off after my first charge and did not turn on anymore unless you do a full reset by pressing the volume down and power button. Camera is good as expected however it is not good on gaming since it's only 3300mah (if I'm not mistaken) I am just browsing the net my a7 2018 was full charge around 2pm and after 5hours of just browsing and checking YouTube it's down to 33% .. I'm just dissatisfied by the battery life but aside from that everything is perfect.

This phone costs 300 euro in my country. Shouldn't it be compared to the Pocophone as well? The Poco costs the same and offers a better deal.

The phone has a crappy camera, even though it is triple camera and new release its camera is worse than my old Mi4i. The photos look like they are sketched and not clicked. The photos lack sharpness in them, I wish I had not bought this phone.

I have owned the bests of these brands, and curved and bendable panels are like a Galaxy S and Note trademark now. But, a few years back, it was actually Nokia that is leading the way for these type of panels. They have the blueprint, gave it to Sammy for production, and guess what? Sammy started making their own flex panel after that. If it wasn't for the shitty management Nokia has been through, they would be the ones making this trend. I wonder if it is one of the patents Samsung has been paying Nokia for royalties all these years.

Nevertheless, I'm still happy with Samsung.

And you'd be surprised how distinguishable aspects of a phone can make or break the purchase.... Though Samsung does take that break part way too literally

Walter C. Dornez, 11 Nov 2018Point taken, though that curved panel does help distinguish... more"Distinguishing" and "originality" in smartphones' realm are too much overrated and unnecessary. Usability, functionality, convenience - that matters, not any fancy marketing stuff :)

Nicolas F, 10 Nov 2018So called 'flagships' also need to get better in some ways.... morePoint taken, though that curved panel does help distinguish Samsung phones from other phones. That doesn't mean they shouldn't go with a flat panel, as a Note device has no need for such curves. I think they should make a version without curves for this who don't like it or make the curves smaller, but still distinguishable. As for the battery, yeah, that needs improvement for a fact
