As 2018 draws to a close, it's only fitting we take a look back and try to remember it for what it really was - twelve months filled with hundreds of cool and not so cool smartphones. Our reviewers tried to stay objective for those written and video reviews they did for you, our beloved audience. But they have certainly picked some favorites and today they are going to share them with you.

[deleted post]well these devices are compact because now days manufactures are able to increase screen size keeping bezels down .. in past big screen came along with big bezels .. and that made devices look bigger than they really were.....

    Phones are way too big these days though, wish more 5 inch variants would come back with variety

        Happy to see as Galaxy Note9 is best smartphone of the year 2018. But it in India it is cheapest Flagship except Galaxy S9/S9+ and LG G7 ThinQ.
        Even iphone XR is pricier than this beast.
        Good Job Samsung. Hopefully Note X/10 will be again best of 2019.

              well like most reviewers here my best 2018 device is Galaxy Note 9!
              i was not surprised to see it as best 2018 device of quite handful of GSMArena reviewers!

                        I think tech sites drool over oneplus just to keep geeks around.

                        Compared to other flagships, it lacks few things. One of the many reasons it costs less.

                        It is no surprise in China people prefer to pay 700 or more for a Huawei over a 500 ,00 One Plus.

                        Even those tons of SD660 midranges from Oppo and Vivo that cost as much as OnePlus are way more popular.


                          Would say mate 20X got it all, size, resolution, 3x fov's, jack, cooling,...,Pen, last year flagship price.
                          Shame its available poorly. It would be mine otherwise. If I would miss something in this phone, it would be only color spectrum sensor, feels like color output got worse from p20pro, excluding lens and processing.
