vivo NEX Dual Display review

14 January 2019
The NEX Dual Display is nothing short of original, yet still surprisingly easy to understand on a conceptual level. In more ways than one, it is the sum of vivo's pre-existing efforts in coining a fresh new and more functional mobile design. One that clearly stems from the desire to maximise screen real estate and solve the selfie camera and sensor issue in a more elegant, notch-free manner.

No point at all. waste

This kind of phone will not be able to make much impact on market. At least I prefer notch even bezel than this. The foldable display is the one who will rule the industry in upcoming years.

Force Majeure, 15 Jan 2019Well, 10 GB RAM and yet still only 3000 - 3500 mAh battery.... moreIt's 81 hours average. Any phone 80+ hrs and above are good enough phones for the likes of me.

This is one of the most intriguing phones this 2019. I still don´t understand the point of this concept

Well, 10 GB RAM and yet still only 3000 - 3500 mAh battery. Sub-par development. Disappointing, to say the least.

And it does save a little on that front camera, which now typically is both dual camera and flash, and this very cheap and small 50Hz AMOLED probably didn't cost very much either. I still orefer the old Nex with pop-up though.

The only downside to this Vivo is, as always, their camera processing and UI.

Gsmarena can you please review Nubia X it looks more polished than this
Nex Dual Display hardware is great but software is a mess

Surprised nobody noticed the annoying fact that the screen's rounded corners do not match the device's rounded corners. It annoys me a lot.

Kiyasuriin, 14 Jan 2019Love it. Except the broken and awkward bits of this one. XDYeah, it just needs the software for it.

This is a better 'rear' design which is far more functional and has the potential to have an extended features in gaming (if the manufacturers opts to do so). If a phone manufacturer charges for the repair of the broken rear panel for ~599USD then it better be funtional rather than just being fragile and shiny.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2019So instead of a small cut out on the front you pay for a co... moreBecause selfie is just extra for me, totally fine by me! Also, it is much better solution, than a notch! I mean, that notch part is unusable for playing and is dead part for watching!

This dual display intrigues me and personally I prefer it to notch. I mean, the battery test isn't that surprising, if you think of it, you can do calls and everything else on smaller display, larger is for content such as games and movies, web browsing. I think that this is a way forward for full screen experience, unless new technologies will allow us to have all in the front.
