Huawei/Honor devices are generally good and good from value proposition point as well. But if you are planning to buy these devices it should be brought after 6 months (unless you are immediately looking for a replacement) as the price would have further dropped and will be huge value for its asking price.

stoosh, 23 Jan 2019Disappointing in so many ways. However having said that I s... moreYep the traditional pathetic sound from the headphone jack seems to be the same here (I tested Mate 20 and it was horrible, and GSMarena's test results are identical here), loudspeaker is not among the loudest too, display is not bright enough too. Think i'll pass this one too, just like the Mate 20 (Couldn't stomach the quiet and distorted sound through headphones. My Xiaomi is 1/3 the price of Mate 20 and the sound is far superior).

Why the battery endurance rating still says 3G talktime. Are't we already talking about 5G and 4G is default everywhere? The battery endurance rating should be now on 4G talk time and not on 3G talk time.

1.Actually may be the best cam so far, surprised me a lot.
2. Hello editors, your good-light coloured lab pic looks really atrocious, soft like from phones 10 years ago, while the low light lab pis is top-notch.
3. A little aside: the historic building on the low light pic reads Plovdiv hotel from one side and Sofia hotel from another side - strange?

It looks like it's a pretty well rounded budget flagship, and that 48MP camera is absolute bonkers, especially when AI Ultra clarity is turned on. I wonder if the same mode will come to Mate 20 Pro as well.. Good job Honor.

The 4k footage is very choppy, dropped frames, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have the same problem. Choppy 4k. It is more like a slide show every couple of seconds. I would skip these Kirin 980 models until Huawei fixes it.

"Shiny back" is gimmick. TOF-camera is gimmick. "Hole-punch" cutout is gimmick.
The real question is, will there be a Honor version of Huawei Mate 20 (not Mate 20 Pro because it's garbage) - with same-sized RGBW display, same chassis (which are the main features of HM20) and K980 but for less money? Although, HM20 will be really worth its price in just half a year..

For the price, it is one of the best options you can go for. Top of the line specs with very little compromises. I also love that iconic back panel. They've reviewed the blue version, but IMO the black version looks the most attractive.
This is basically Honor's flagship phone, which you can alternatively consider the cheapest Huawei flagship.
