- it scratches the easiest out of plastic, metal and glass
- even though it scratches easier than metal, it can also crack
- it doesn't get as cold as metal or glass which means that it is bad for transporting heat
- of course, it feels cheap and flimsy
- it is really soft and can be bend easily, so if your phone has a plastic back, you can push onto it and literally feel the internals

Boss, 27 Feb 2019Yes cause plastic is way to go. It's a material that absolu... morePlastic scratches much more easily than anodised metal. Even when scratched, you can sandpaper the metal to regain the smooth surface. Unless there is scratch-resistant plastic available, I prefer metal.

The 10plus camera samples have blown highlights. What a fail, Sony. I know you can do better than this. Why did you not optimize its dynamic range. It just fails. The details and colors are good but the dynamic range is poor. Learn from the cheap Xiaomi and Oneplus on the dynamic range game.

here people are talking about less features and high price but trust me I use many sony phone and I like it because when you use it at daily driver you will find many small small features that only sony offers (which sony did not advertise that's why people don't know about it) which are really practical in day to day life (like sound quality, battery quality, display quality and overall build quality which sony gives you and which are your main use and that no Chinese brand are offering). here I request you buy any sony phone and just use it for 2-3 months with in mind that you buy best phone and then you found all the good stuff that sony offer and you also become fan of sony mobile.

If in the end you will eventually buying a casing, why would plastic matter so much as long as they could lower the price or at least steady maintaining the price. Metaphorically, when you are going out for working or leisure, will you not wearing any clothing? It is analogous to the casing case to protect your highly valued phones be it flagships, mid ranges, nor entry level phones.

Glass adds weight, it slippery, it breaks. Metals interfere with reception, they dent too easily, they get warm too quickly and they scratch. What glass and metal gives you is only a perception that you have something of a quality in your hand which cannot be more far away from the truth.

Does the Xperia 1 not have a 3.5mm jack while the lower-end models do? It this serious? I was waiting a few years to finally upgrade to Sony's new flagship, but now I have to look elsewhere...

My phone is almost 3 y.o , still battery last as much as when it was new. My previous phone is being used by someone else, battery is 4 year old already. No issues.....
Sony batteries have more life cycles than batteries used by other brands.
