Sony Xperia XZ3 long-term review

08 March 2019
We used the Sony Xperia XZ3 as our main smartphone for an extended period of time, trying to evaluate whether it might serve most people well in day to day use, away from benchmarks, sales numbers, and objective tests. So join us over the next few pages as we explore what the Xperia XZ3 has to offer in 2019.

But my phone works like a charm also, none of the "issues" mentioned in some of those "reviews". ..
Wtf is it with this people?

I raised my eyebrows when I read that this Sony Xperia beast is laggy. Seriously? Lol
Using Xz1c with zero lag since forever

vrvly, 08 Mar 2019Actually funny excuse as there are absolutely new companies... moreExactly. And it's disappointing because they not only have the best camera division, but the best hardware for the camera. Hell, they could totally rival Google if they tried.

I've been using the 6GB RAM variant of the XZ3 from Hong Kong (flashed to the Taiwan region firmware for speedy updates), and it doesn't suffer from any of the lag or performance issues mentioned in this long-term review. It has been solid from Day 1, and remains solid.

Xiaomi lives out of their current business and would fail as a company if they stopped doing so. In any case, there'll always be other options. Im not silly enough to buy a 1000$ phone :)

Through out the whole review there are mentions of competitors and how they do things better and have something mind-blowing about them while XZ3 doesn't. I would love to know what those competitors are since they are never mentioned by name

I owned the XZ3, it had graininess on the screen. Someone on the XDA forums reported the same issue.

Only time that I face lags and stutters was when I recover all my apps and data from google acc. During that proces phone is noticeably slower and I can bet he face same problem.

Allan, 08 Mar 2019This is terrible!! I remember a review on XDA (I believe) s... moreYes, I do and I cannot corroborate the story. If I have to be extremely strict with my phone, I may admit that some animations may drop one of two frames in some animations after the telephone has just woken up, but this is rather rare. However most of the issues mentioned in this review are not present; I face no lag by opening the recent apps rolodex, there is no lag in switching between apps no matter how fast I try and no unresponsive keys on keyboard.

Writing this from my "lagging" Xperia XZ3... thanks, I wouldn't have known that my phone lags if it wasn't this piece of crap I just read. ^^

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2019Good review. Their lower-than-rivals sales now make perfect... moreWell, thing is that not ever having seen in the wild this phone means that you cannot be sure about the validity of this review. I have the phone and I cannot agree with 70% of what is written here. I think it's fair to criticize bezels if you prefer notches and holes, you can also criticize lag (though I have zero of it in my unit, maybe they have a faulty unit) but the moment when the reviewer starts criticizing useful features like sound upscaling and face detection to keep the screen always on, then you can tell that it's not the most objective review.
