Save your money. Stick with your 2-3 year old smartphone and buy a dSLR and an f/1.4 prime lens instead, or an equivalent mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (with f/1.4 lens), or an advanced compact camera with an f/1.8 aperture option and 1" sensor like the RX100 V if bulkiness is a concern. No matter how much hype these $1,000++ camera-centric smartphones receive, they really are still horrible in low light. Just look at all the low light detail retention from all those 'best of the best' camera phones here. Excessive edge enhancement, noise reduction and sharpening that makes any dSLR owner with an f/1.4 lens cringe. You're better off sticking with your 2016-2017 flagship smartphone and buying a dSLR with f/1.4 prime lens instead for a less than $1,000. Smartphone manufacturers and those who never owned a dSLR and used it with an f/1.4 prime lens will never quite get to see just how horrible smartphone cameras still are in low light depite the glowing reviews from gsmarena, DxOMark mobile and other review sites. Yes they have indeed improved, but still really not much that makes the improvement worth wasting $1,000++ on with no significant improvement to offer other than the fake claim to 'dSLR camera' photo quality. Excuse me, I hate to burst the hype bubble but it's really a claim as fake as the camera hype these smartphone manufacturers and online reviewers nowadays are peddling.

Why create a phone. That is all about the camera then ruin it with that horrid edge screen. Hinders composition and just Introduces reflected highlights down both sides. Is there a way to trim the screen image to black out the notch and edges?

Kz, 28 Mar 2019Yeah but can you call with the 350 dollar camera? No, i can't. But my $300 phone can. The $350 what's left from $1000, i can spend on a trip on which i will take much better photos with my $350 camera than you can with your $1000 phone.

Ark1985, 27 Mar 2019My bad, indeed p30 pro is IP68, while P30 = IP53.
Still... moreCould you please comment on its battery life? I'm contemplating between S10 and S10e.
Also, I noticed that the display of S10e is duller than S10 (talking about the whites, both at same full brightness), and both the displays are paler than my existing handset, Mi 5. Would you like to comment on the daily use brightness and colors?

There is absolutely no need for screens with curved edges. They distort content, they cause accidental touches (and cases will interfere with navigation gestures), they create more glares under light, they cost more than flat screens, and slim side bezels can be done without curved screens.

Log1cal, 27 Mar 2019Mediocre camera on P30 pro??? Really? That is a fanboy dedi... moreYes, really. Under same lighting conditions, with same parameters, take a picture of the same scene, with this $1000 phone and with an entry level $350 digital SLR, and compare them. You will see that it's nothing more than mediocre. If you claim otherwise, you obviously didn't see a photo from an APS-C camera, not to mention a "full frame" or larger.
