There Is No Way to Compare, the S10 Is Excellent. Apple Don't Give Us the Perfect Product Specially In the Field of Smart Phones, They Just Sell a Trademark (Fine Apple Logo And Perfect Marketing Games to Make You Pay Too Much For Nothing Real).

BornInEU, 21 Apr 2019And the winner is ... Mi 9. Better endurance, I believe 108... more1080p amoled is 720p in real life usage. So the XR has the better display of the three phones you mention.
In regards to ios vs android, you also need to take into account that you can use iPhones without touching any google services, and then theres data protection. You cant secure the data on your iphone and make it unrecoverable and unbreakable, whereas there are tools to access data on android. If you store sensitive files on your iphone, no one will be able to access them if you secure them.

Also, more and more people are leaving googles spyware services and iphones are the only ones where you can totally avoid google products.

And the winner is ... Mi 9. Better endurance, I believe 1080p Amoled is also better screen (than Xr LCD), almost the same cpu and system speed, much better triple camera, 27 W fast charging. Ok IP68 is missing but very strong argument for Xiaomi is the price - 388 Euro less than Xr. An by the way, what Apples ecosystem? Most of you are using google services and Spotify ... So if you ask me the winner is Mi 9, but from that two - S10e is winner for sure.

Nick Tagataka, 21 Apr 2019I see, thank you for answering my question. I totally agree... moreMy experience with iPhone 7 plus is different, it loses more than 50% value in 14-16 months. By the time you want to upgrade your iPhones you will end up adding 200% of the resale value of the older iPhones to get newer one because, newer ones getting increased by 10%-20% more in price, every year. Not a smart choice IMO. Only if you are particular about iOS.

If you put XR price alone, there are very many options available at flagship range mobiles yet cheaper than XR! No wonder Apple recent iPhones have not many takers outside US market. XR is clearly confusing choice in Asian markets

Kangal, 21 Apr 2019Nope. Any phone in 2017 and beyond which lacks proper ingr... moreBuddy not everyone cares about IP certification. It may be important to you, but that doesn't make it a necessity for everyone.

Also, the upcoming $2000 Galaxy Fold & $2600 Mate X lack waterproofing too. Are they not flagship? Of course they are.

As for the cameras, i suggest you take a look at sample images of P30 before you assume it's imaging capabilities.

If you still think it doesn't classify as a flagship phone, then let's just agree to disagree...

easy ... some prefer iphone , and some prefer galaxy ... its their choice which phone the best for them ...

but usually , samfan easily getting hurt and feel uncomfortable when people prefer apple .....

It's not a big screen but 5.8" is definitely NOT small.

And I am unsure why 78hr battery endurance considered as "good"

Kangal, 21 Apr 2019Nope. Any phone in 2017 and beyond which lacks proper ingr... moreIP certification does not classify a phone's flagship status. Otherwise the upcoming $2000 Galaxy Fold & $2600 Mate X are not flagships according to your opinion.

Also, once again i suggest you check out P30's in-depth review before you assume stuff about it.

Finally, i will just straight up say i find many flaws in your assessment & i disagree entirely with your viewpoint. That is my final word on the matter.

Nick Tagataka, 21 Apr 2019P30, if anything, has better quality optics compared to P30... moreThe P30 Pro has two advantages over P30. 1. Better low-light performance (although P30 itself is pretty great too thanks to the new RYYB sensor). 2. 5x optical / 10x hybrid zoom (compared to 3x optical / 5x hybrid zoom). Aside from those two improvements, the P30 is indeed pretty identical to the P30 Pro.

And you previously asked me about the prices. Well, they're in the same price bracket with negligible differences over here. Samsung & Huawei phones are quicker to drop in prices though, compared to iPhones. Thus buying iPhones grant you better resale value over here.

Whackcar, 21 Apr 2019I completely disagree with your opinion regarding the P30 n... moreNope.
Any phone in 2017 and beyond which lacks proper ingress protection (eg IP67, IP68, IP69) is definitely NOT worthy of being called a flagship. I mean, the Xiaomi devices are really neat but this is one area where they completely fail. The only exception to this rule is if the device is flagship in every metric, besides ingress protection, but counters this by having a removable battery (which extends the phone's longevity, value, and battery life).

Not having a security point is also a dealbreaker in a flagship. Which is why the iPhone Xr (barely) passes with its FaceID security system, and the Samsung S10e makes do with its side mounted fingerprint scanner. I don't see the cheap webcam based Android facial recognition, or LG's stupid Palm detection, as acceptable security systems. The reliable fingerprint scanner, wether it is the capacitive one, optical one, or ultrasonic one, are great options though.

And let's talk about battery capacitive. It is true, that I prefer a big battery, but this is not the only way to extend your battery life. One can actually have a small battery, but have average or even great battery life. Some ways of achieving this is with removable batteries (hotswap on the go), excellent fast charging and wireless charging (small top ups during the day), more efficient display (think Galaxy S4 vs S10e), more efficient processor (eg 20nm vs 16nm, big difference), and lastly much better software (be it optimisation, or cleverer prediction). I see the S10e with acceptable battery life, but I would call both the iPhone Xr's and the Huawei P30's battery life as pretty good.

Wrapping these points up: The Huawei P30 Pro is a flagship, the P30 is not.
I have nothing against Huawei (or any other company, as I don't shill). Besides, Huawei doesn't need my help in giving their phones a bad reputation (be it the bloated EMUI SkinnedOS, slow security updates, little platform updates, questionable customer service, and a hard time for enthusiasts/developers like me).

Now unto the point about the camera, yes, the Huawei P20 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, and the P30 Pro have excellent camera systems. However, the non-Pro versions they all have weaker camera sensors and lenses (and they all lack proper ingress protection). If you do not believe me, please check it out yourself.

And here's the thing about the camera tests, most reviewers have only tested the "Pro" versions and assumed the same results apply to the base versions because they have similar looking camera systems. They do not. And most tech-journo's like GSMArena don't have the best means to test and judge cameras. I can personally tell you the Pro's produce much better photos than the base versions, but I hope you actually go out and try these for yourself. This doesn't mean the P30's camera is significantly worse than the iPhone Xr's or the Samsung S10e's... that was taken out of context. It means the P30's camera is significantly worse than the P30 Pro's (or the Google Pixel 3XL for auto-capture, or the iPhone XS Max for video performance), however, the truth is it is only slightly worse than the iPhone Xr and Samsung S10e.

And I've said it before and I will say it again: the Kirin 980 is a great flagship SoC. It really is better than the sad-story Exynos 9820 we find common in the Samsung S10e, and I would prefer it to the QSD 845 (if it wasn't for the Custom Rom scene). The QSD 855 crushes it though, and it gets absolutely decimated by the Apple A11-Bionic, let alone the Apple A12-Bionic. Regardless, the performance of the Huawei P30 is not the reason why it is not considered a flagship phone. This does not diminish the quality or the value of the P30, it just means this phone isn't what you were quite thinking... this is around the same league as the OnePlus 6t and Xiaomi Mi9. It does not compete against the Sony Xperia One, LG G8, Samsung S10-variants, and the iPhone X-models. I hope that I have explained things more clearly this time around, and thanks for your patience with this long read.

Kangal, 21 Apr 2019The Huawei P30 isn't a flagship, unlike the iPhone Xr and t... moreP30, if anything, has better quality optics compared to P30 Pro which uses a lens with wider aperture of F1.6... Pro has an edge in low light solely because of the presence of OIS. Now, the question is, does the regular P30 have worse lens than S10e or iPhone Xr? Of course not, S10e has the worst quality lens out of three due to Samsung's attempt to eliminate the camera bump and make the body as thin as possible & very wide open F1.5 aperture in darker environment, whereas iPhone Xr and P30 are just as good as each other in this regard. Not to mention that the noise reduction that Samsung employs is far more aggressive compared to other two, which sweeps up a lot of details along with noise. Don't also forget that P30 is the only one that comes with the lossless digital zoom and 3x telephoto lens.

In terms of system performance Exynos variant of S10 series is behind P30 series in every single measure according to Anandtech, though it's unclear which series is better when it comes to sustained GPU performance(as right now there's something wrong with the regular P30's thermal throttling mechanism). P30 clearly edges out S10e in battery life though, if you look at GSMArena's battery test results... as well as in charging speed. And it's cheaper than S10e in many countries. Although I must agree that A12 has no competition from the Android side right now, I don't understand how Apple is even making a chipset that has performance almost comparable to older dual core Intel i series chipset, while only consuming 6W at most.

Finally, as for the Qualcomm variant of S10e: good luck with getting the proper custom ROM on that one. Any Galaxy sold in US comes with a locked bootloader so you can't even root it in the first place.
