Shame about the horrible display. The display is after all probably one, if not THE most important thing on a phone, since it is the thing you are looking at all day. I would buy this phone IN AN INSTANT if not for that display. LCD is just horrible and the colors on this one is abyssmal. So much green/blue tint. Look at mrwhosetheboss' battery comparison test and check it out next to the amoled phones next to it. It looks SO bad the display. Shame because i really love this phone and it would be PERFECT with an amoled screen :(

It ticks most of the boxes well. Even audio quality is great, although most values are mediocre.
Except its huge and heavy.
As it appears, my earlier-proposed design (the internally rotating camera) is the best there could be, for any phone. So sad the companies don't read this.
Now, I just await the result of K20 Pro, let's see what its made of in terms of camera and audio...

There seems to be something wrong with the brightness test or specific unit. Supposed to be 600 nits, which is confirmed by other tests

DavidB, 29 May 2019It's good spec in cheap looking body. I think Mi9 is way be... moreWhy do you care about how premium the phone is? Don't be vain. Mi9 doesn't even have a headphone jack. That lack of jack is enough to move customers away and find ones that do have it.

Jacky , 29 May 2019According to multiple real measure, the Asus Zenfone weight... moreHa ha! And people are confused about Asus claiming 600cd/m2 and the review measuring 420. It should only be logical that it strays away from the official specs, too. But, like I said, I'm expecting some Poco F1 or other popular phone owner to compare the max non-auto brightness, so we can really find out.

According to multiple real measure, the Asus Zenfone weight over 200gram.
One weight 201 gram and another weight 202 gram, which is 11~12 gram heavier than Asus claimed, GSMARENA would you mind confirm it. Thank you.
Also, in real measure, the phone thickness is 9.8mm ~ 10.8mm. Which is 1.5mm thicker than Asus claimed, GSMARENA would you mind confirm it. Thank you.

Has anyone got a Zenfone 6 and a Poco F1 or other popular phone, to be able to compare the maximum brightness in non-auto mode? It's the only way we can find out it's real maximum brightness.
PS: I've just seen a review measuring it's weight at 202g, far from the official 190g (which is already on the heavy side)

nurfahmy, 29 May 2019Where is photo compare tools? I dont see asus zenfone 6 ent... moreYes, we really need that. The processing has been improved since the first samples, but it's nowhere near the best possible, it still ruins the pictures to some degree. There's great hardware everywhere, but the software is worse and worse nowadays, the software departments are full of people that ruin things

This almost ticks all the boxes for m it's nearly perfect. Camera is more impressive than I thought it would be and the video it captures is excellent. Not sure why the screen wasn't going above 424 nits when Asus says the display can reach 600 nits of brightness. Perhaps the unit you guys reviewed was faulty? All in all great job Asus!

My new successor to the Nokia 8 (2017) but it appears I'll have two phones with me. Nokia 8 is a 1440p brighter IPS display but now it's plagued with easy burn in after months of abuse by farming in Ragnarok M, and its monospeaker has an Excellent rating and all my friends complimented it for being the loudest yet still clear.
I could use both to help me level up faster in Ragnarok M. I can't wait for Zenfone 6's release in the Philippines. I hope it's available at early June.

Anonymous, 29 May 2019You must be kidding. SD855, 8GB RAM, 48MP sony lens and you... moreIt's good spec in cheap looking body. I think Mi9 is way better and way more premium feeling choice. Huge difference is the battery, where Asus shines. But I would still go for Mi9 or OP7, Zenfone is just...ugly imho :-/ :D

zillion, 29 May 2019I prefer buy mi9 than zenfone6. Better display with undersc... moreUnderscreen Fingerprint? I don't think that's a very reliable way of unlocking your phone, as it does take a bit more time to do so, but you choose. I am just saying. Also, the Asus doesn't look that bad.
