Dissapointed by the screen when I compare with my old Zenfone 3 ze552kl
Only 424 white cd/m² ...607 for old Zenfone 3 !
1201 contrast... 1355 for my old Zenfone 3 !
What about the sunlight contrast ratio?

Problem is this is an Asus. Just take a look at their own forums and you will see that their phones work great out of the box, but with each updates, more features get broken and never fixed. Many zenfone 3 became a useless piece of brick after the final "update" and Asus say there are no plan to fix anything else.

4 stars and a 1/2 is a fair score. The only downside of the phone is the screen, most people would definitely be able to live with that

This phone was so close to perfection yet so far away at the same time.
The technological design is just great: the slider camera makes perfect sense: gives you a great sensor to take photos in all situations.
The performance is the best Android can offer right now.
The battery life is almost unrivaled for such a powerful device.
Even the sound is great as well: stereo speakers, 3.5 mm jack
BUT
Unfortunately the most important component of any device had to be sacrificed for the cost: unfortunately a bad display is the hardest deal breaker any device can have.
I mean the contrast ratio of this panel is just abysmal and contrast is essential for making anything pop.
Without it the content will look washed out.
Even Poco had a more decent panel than this and that display was mediocre at best.
Honestly if they would have added an OLED or at least a decent IPS panel and increased the cost by let's say 50-100 dollars this would have been a much more compelling option.
But as it stands right now it's an almost perfect device with a fatal flow.

I don't know how an AMOLED at FHD can be considered better than an IPS at FHD (Pentile vs full RGB matrix). The grainy picture of AMOLED at FHD bothers me extremely.
By the way, the Zenfone 6 is tested at approximately 600 nits by other reviewers. There are youtube videos proofing a good sunlight legibility either.

Question is though, when is this phone actually going to be released. The launch event was 16th May and when you go to the Asus website it just says pre-order. From what I know of there hasn't been an official release date and I think the demand for this phone must be high in the UK. For the past 2 days, when I go to the Asus UK store it says out of stock or it will say "Pre order" and then when it does say pre order, about 1 hour later say it says out of stock. Which in some way is a good thing, because if the demand is high but the stock is limited, hopefully, more UK retailers will stock this. Rather than buying it through the Asus website and going through all that trouble of returning it, in case you don't like it.

There are some apps in the play store, for example, but they're all useless for color temperature, because they destroy all colors and gradients at the same time.

I hope the color temperature adjustment can compensate for the bluish whites without imbalancing other colors. I can't understand why most LCDs nowadays come with a 8-9000K white instead of a natural 6500-7000K one. If the temperature adjustment slider doesn't solve the problem, I'll return it.
One good part is that the camera now seems decent, because the first sample I've seen were below any decency level.

You should also mention that both Mi 9 and the Onplus 7 lacks a 3,5 mm jack when you compare the Zenfone 6 with them. It's huge for many people! :)

Either you missed some setting, or your units is faulty, because PhoneArena manged to get 573 nits max brightness.
