This phone is excellent. I will get an iPhone when it will have UMTS for Italy, but the E51 does anything anyone can possibly ask out of a phone that weighs as a phone, looks like a phone and feels like a phone. It's truly smart inside without the bulkyness and weight of so-called smartphones. The iPhone is the only real next step as it already belongs to the new era when phones will just be another form to get a full-fledged computer. But so far smartphones are just overhyped phones that are only larger, slower and heavier than the E51. I get my corporate email messages on the E51 via MailForExchange and when I'm also connected to my Exchange server through the laptop I receive new email on the E51 even before than when the usually sluggish Outlook gets the message on the laptop.
If you want a phone with Wi-Fi and all the connectivity you like, get the E51. If you want to show off "cool" pieces of technology with your friends then get something else. And then we'll be able to show off and have a real technology gem when the iPhone will be ready for Europe and its UMTS network. Unfortunately it's not iPhone's time yet in Europe.

I have use many nokia phone and recently tried e51. I can say overall i am very satisfy with it except for the sms part.
Do you all find that it is a bit slow while responding to sending out sms? I am not sure if is due to that i installed many programs into my phone.
I didn't want to reformat it as it would be quite tedious to reload everything so just wanted to ask your comments if you have tried several Symbain nokia phone...
Appreciate your reply soon.

The great phone, specially for people willing to add the decency into their look. The phone has really decent looks, and very sensible device. In india its a hot sell i checked in 8 shops to buy a phone most of them asked they doesn't has stock, and those has it, in rose color...As max demand is for "chrome". The feature's@price ....i'm speechless. I have a suggession for an upgrade, hope it will givwe the big boost to this phone.
1) Upgrade the camera to 5 MP(as in Nokia N82).
2) GPS.
3) Should have a sound quality equivalent to nokia express music with 3.5 mm audio jack.
4) The phone should be in two models one the existing one with inclusion of above menstioned features and the another with a BIG touch screen.
Hope w'll get the upgrade soon for those willing to carry a business phone with no compromise with sound quality and touch screen usablty.

It's the best phone I have ever used.
It fits all my bussiness needs with appropriate multimedia functions.
It's a combination of a PDA+I-POD+PHONE.
IT's processor is too fast as compared to those N-Series Phones which really hang.

I had many other phones, Iphone, N95, N73, N70, e50, and many more...so far I recorded a number of 30+ different cellphones that I had in the past. With the nokia e51 i was a little skeptical of its use and performance. I got it from Ebay (new/never used). Im a student with a busy schedule and this phone fits my needs. Quick entry buttons are a great +, its battery life is great, Camera takes decent pics, loud speaker for those outside and best of all its simple but productive s60 software makes the statement of being a business/normal use phone. Its metal finish seems to be a little to shiny (especially when driving in my car/sun reflection issues). Usage of metal finish made this phone easy to slip out os hand...so be careful. In a 2 week period i put at least 48h in talk time and so far the phone keeps up to my needs. One thing that i would like to see in the future nokia e5xx is a little more input in email configuration. As of now it is easy to install/configure, but is its a challenge to navigate/unsubscribe if not wanted. overall score 9.5/10.

I just bought it last week. I loved it very much, all i want is there, the speaker is very good. and signal strength is also better compare to N 6300 (my previous one). All I can say it is the cheapest E series with minimum gimmick but maximum function for a handphone.

When I had my nokia 6100, i thaught-never ever nokia again. But then i understood, that I need wifi very often. I wanted one of HTC products, but they have a lot of disadvantages. Whatever-there was this phone. I had doubts, but at last bought it.
My impressions-outstanding device- all i need, and even more. I dont like photocams you are able to call with, so camera doesn't make sense for me. I have DSLR for photos :)
Perfect wifi performance, good reception, perfect sound quality (i am musician, so i have gadgets that plays music, but this is a phone, and for phone it is more than good), satisfactory built in handsfree, touchscreen would be nice for complete satisfaction. But that's minor!
And it is a lot cheaper than any HTC.
I'm happy..

man, i already had a 6120 classic phone. & this time, this phone is bugging me to own it! o____o;;
seeing the 96mb ram in it feels like wanna get it right away! ;) hahaha
maybe pretty soon, i'll get this phone as my 2nd one. Its hella sleek & has complete features! sure Nokia is not stingy in giving out RAMS to their phones now. Its a must!

Finally, a phone that is a "good" phone. Thank you for the review. Seeing that call quality and connectivity options are robust, I am thrilled with this Symbian offering from Nokia. I also see that the E51 without a camera is out and I am definitely leaning towards that model. Thank you so much for doing the work for me...
