Frustrating...
Review confirmed that it is a Pentile AMOLED.
Even the battery is not THAT good... I was expecting very high numbers given the AMOLED screen and the low resolution, but the results shown that Mi A3 battery is slightly worse than the Redmi Note 7 that has a 1080p screen. The only reason I see for a 720p screen would be more battery life. But even that does not appear in Mi A3.

Screen resolution might be the reason I won't buy this phone, have to compare in hand cause it has an amoled screen.

To make an Oled screen look less the mediocre in order to get better battery life, as well as shit sound over headphones. There is so much (way to much competition for the same price).
They tried so hard to praise this phone but at this moment, it's not up there with competition.

This would be selling like hotcakes if it were 1080p..

[deleted post]Yes, because the entire Mi9 series (with slight differences) has the exact same sensors and yield identical results.

Anonymous, 31 Jul 2019Generalizations about a brand as a whole is silly. Durabili... moreEvery brand has its lemon. However, if your brand is "hit-and-miss" (ie., reliability is a model specific variable) then that pretty much becomes a valid generalization of the brand. Incidentally, that is also why Xiaomi (Huawei, and everyone else under the sun) created sub-brands -- so that those generalizations stick only to the right sub-brand.

The real question everyone must ask about the camera, especially in the Android One program and Xiaomi's distinct lack of care, is: does it have Camera2 API enabled?

I would say yes, as per Google's requirements for phones launching with Pie, but Xiaomi is still Xiaomi and they always manage to eff up their Android One line.

4 star's rating for this? It's more like three star's, two & a half with current price. Bad display, bad audio, old SoC & bad price. Totally disappointing!

Xiaomi are so overrated, subpar structural integrity compared to the competition. Pentile isn't bad but Diamond Pentile is an eyesore, especially when combined with 286ppi, the pixel density is 191ppi effective, terrible...

What about the proximity sensor??? Does the quick toggle panel roll down every time the phone is pressed to the ear during a call ?

"There isn't a benefit of shooting in 48MP"
I don't know why gsmarena isn't able to compare the results correctly. Look at thr 48 megapixel photo with the clock. The clock and the Fiat car definitely have more details in 48 megapixel mode.

Sled Malko, 31 Jul 2019I'm sorry, but I fail to see how this a 4-star phone?Low PPI and pentile arrangement. An eyesore.
