Gandalfdenvite, 05 Sep 2019"Every device that will launch running Android 10 will be r... moreYes and no. Though for some data it sure is, for others it is simply a waste of CPU-time and thus battery. Do anyone REALLY need some large public available downloaded video or similar encrypted? Or your large offline maps files, downloaded from your maps vendor?
And if something breaks, it gets harder to extract your data from your SD-card, so you have to rely on having good backups. That is of course always a good idea anyway.
But again I would say that 99.99% of my images could just as well go public, so encryption here is again generally wasted.
But SURE it is a good idea that SOME data can be encrypted, and by just blindly encrypting everything, nothing is accidentally omitted....
But as Google, NSA and the like are likely to steal our data anyway, it is a bit of false security IMHO

Hmm it all sound like a big: MEH
Especially the gestures, but at least it can simple be turned off, so we can wait for a useful version in android 11, 12, 13, 14,.... in a few years.

Good changes and it's fortunate that Scoped Storage is not here yet, hopefully Google abandons the idea entirely eventually. Even Apple is slowly adding support for file system on iPadOS and maybe even on new iPhones eventually.
Android 9 was IMHO the first bad update in the sense that I'd rather stay on Oreo because Pie messed up interface and removed features, the asinine volume buttons behaviour being one example.
Can't wait till my OnePlus device gets 10, shouldn't be too long based on their great track record and the fact that there's already an open beta available which I'll be skipping because it doesn't work with Google Pay.
Good update, an actual progress instead of the regression that was Android Pie.

Sounds like the usual Google over-complicated, under achieving mess.
