Google Pixel 4 XL review

29 Oct 2019
The Google Pixel 4 duo was not Google's best-kept secret. We saw pictures of the phone weeks before the event, and we even learned about Face unlock while Google teased the Motion Sense features ahead of its event. The Google Pixel 4 XL represents everything that Google has learned in the first four iterations of the Google Pixel, including a mid-cycle and mid-range Pixel 3a which was very well received.

It really make sad to see such a potential wasted on a mediocre hardware, not to mention so many bugs, so many bugs everywhere.
... and no-ultrawide ofc ... because Google has the best algorithms for ultrawide correction logic.
... on the other hand it's top, numero uno, when it comest to sound capture ... Pixel win "The worst mics in the whole industry" by a long shot. GJ Google, even Apple fixed their crap two years ago.
Wasted potential ... I wanted to love it, to own it, but I rather bought crappy Xperia 5 than this disapointement.

Worst value in any phone ever

    Simple as that

I went immediately to the battery section with no hope for its endurance.

Of course it was to be expected. What the freak else is new with the Pixels without the 'a' at the end of them? Abysmal battery life gives me ZERO point to getting their phones. Hope it fails miserably.

"Although the Pixel managed to grab more details, OnePlus did a really good job with HDR mode"

I thought the exact opposite, OP7 looked to have more details and definitively sharper, "but" more contrasty, something that some may prefer, while the P4 looked to have "better HDR" because it lifts the shadows much more.

I was eagerly waiting for the Pixel 4. As soon as the Launch event ended, I ordered the OnePlus 7T. Now, after using the 7T for 14 days, I am so happy to report that I made a really good decision. The Pixel 4 and XL are overpriced phones , Period. The 7T offers so much value for money. The nightscape mode on my 7T is really awesome. I have also installed Gcam on it so that I could compare Gcam photos with the stock camera app

An overrated phone. As an 'Original Google Android' system, it fails to optimized things up. Even some of the UI base on Android such as Oxygen, One UI, EMUI provide more tweaks & features to make it more stable & well optimized ROMS.

I just keep wondering why in the camera segment review keeps comparing Pixel 4 XL with Oneplus 7T, when its real rival are Iphone 11 Pro Max.

For once, GSMArena did a great job with the Conclusion.
The Pixel 4 devices just aren't impressive, and is only recommended for Google-aficionados. As someone who doesn't care (which is majority of users), it's obvious Google dropped the ball on this one.

Perhaps it's accurate, Google needs other OEMs to do a proper job with Android Phones!
