Just looked at the flickr camera sample images. Apparently Samsung doesn't crop the 48 megapixel sensor at 10x. It looks like an upscaled 4x photo. Nonetheless a crop wouldn't be much better because Quad Bayer sensors capture much less detail than Bayer sensors in the high resolution mode and often produce demosaicing artifacts. That's why Samsung uses a traditional 64 megapixel Bayer sensor for the S20. For most smartphones a 48 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor in the high resolution mode is more comparable with an approximately 16 megapixel Bayer sensor regarding real details.

I really can confirm this based on pers... moreI sold my note 10+ for pro max. what I hate the most are the slow, inaccurate & inconsistent FPS. even though note 10+ has a good low light picture quality, when it comes to low light video-ing, is a disaster, cant even record a nice 1080P in 60frames. standby time and SOT are terrible. I suspect the culprit exyno chipset resulted for bad video, SOT and standby time.
I also want to add 1 more thing gameplay on note 10+, there is a very noticeable different. Even my old iphone 8 plus can do better job.

Seeio, 15 Feb 2020Hy can you with Huawei P30Pro the S20 Ultra comparing ?When I ignore the RYB filter of the P30 Pro, then the full field of view of the S20 Ultra main camera captures approximately 35% more light per time than the full field of view of the P30 Pro main camera.
So regarding the full field of view, the total amount of light per time, which is captured by the P30 Pro, is equivalent to the Galaxy S10 with approximately f/1.25 lens and the S20 Ultra is equivalent to the Galaxy S10 with approximately f/1.05 lens.

Awesome camera and performance, just too high price...

ypcx, 12 Feb 2020Galaxy's 1.5f aperture was one of the top reasons to choos... moreIt's weird you say that because the real life photo samples from both devices suggest the completely opposite result. A larger sensor size and the use of unusual colour filter on P30 Pro allowed it to capture twice as more light as S10 at F1.5 settings, and this resulted in a *less* blurry image on P30 Pro in low light. Do some proper calculations and you'll see how much more light S20 Ultra can take in compared to S10 even with narrower aperture, I bet it'll surprise you.

'Pre-orders on the S20+ and S20 Ultra (sadly not the vanilla S20) will also be getting a free pair of Samsung's new Galaxy Buds Plus.'

              Not in all countries... 😒

Some years ago, we would have complained about fingerprints all over, camera hump, too heavy, etc. especially when it involved Sony.

The S20 Ultra captures approximately twice as much light per time as the S10 despite the worse f number. So at an exposure time of 1/8s the S20 Ultra captures approximately as much light as the S10 at 1/4s.
Another way to express it is:
The S20 Ultra with f/1.8 lens captures as much light per time as the S10 with an f/1.05 lens

ypcx, 14 Feb 2020Hello, are you a marketing bot? Or do you have an actual co... moreHe/she isn't really wrong. The normal Galaxy S20 captures approximately 15% more light per time than the S10 despite having a worse f number. If it's a 12.0 megapixel sensor (instead of 12.2), then it's just 13% more light per time. So it captures approximately the same amount of light per time as the S10, 15% is a very small difference. It means that the S20 with an exposure time of 1/8s captures as much light as the S10 with an exposure time of 1/7s.
Furthermore it's possible that the f/1.8 lens is sharper than the previous lens at f/1.5
