Overall I expected better from the Ultra. Pretty much hyped for everything that all together didn't quite translate into reality. I also expected better from the Exynos this time around atleast that definitely did not happen.
....Sad.

Can't argue with Telephoto
21W charging is perfectly fine to preserve the battery for longer.
Wish it was a bigger battery but let's wait for results
Headphones may be bundled with pre-orders
Availability...tough to argue but I'm in the US so I'm at least game for the Xperia Pro.
Let's wait and see with GSMArena's review shall we?

Despite being a great fan of Samsung for their flagship only I'm not quite happy their s20 ultra.. Specially because of the price tag and also for showing Apple like mindset.. Although the device has to be 80% or more better than iPhone 11 pro Max.. But they still didn't give 100% as they were used to till last year.. Specially in pricing and choosing best specs and quality compared to the market.. People should go for cheaper model like note 9 or s10 if they don't care for latest specs and I'll definitely pick other device over this one at least for one year or till the release of Note 20.. Although I feel okay for S20 and S20+ 4g variants although it should be packed with 5g at that price tag and should not charge extra 100 pennies for 5g variants..

Very good review. Totally agree with the points about marketing. Disappointed with Ultra. The Note 10 is a better phone.

And look out the CNET 8k shooting with professional grade which was totally best with the scene being the first gen.. Most of phone reviewers (youtubers) shouldn't be called tech youtubers then let alone pro photography experience..

Weak Ultrawide, weak 3x optical (useless in low light),weak selfie camera.
21W charging in 2020 is laughable with 4000mah battery.
Lack of higher refresh rate with useless battery hog 4k.
No bundled in earphones.
Lack of availability in most parts of the globe (out goes the warranty too with it)

S20 Ultra has the best low light studio shot I've seen. The difference with S10+ is like night and day. Despite the criticisms from all-too-keen critics, you can't beat physics. Large sensor wins!

Ellio74, 28 Feb 2020This review confirms a lot of thing I was thinking about. T... moreThe 100x zoom & 8K video was bound to disappoint. Digital zoom has never been impressive, and you can't do proper 8K video from a camera that doesn't have at least 34MP native camera without binning.
Their biggest fault was going for a Nona-Bayer sensor instead of going Quad-Bayer like Xiaomi. Most users prefer more detail over slightly better low-light performance. As expected, their NonaBayer sensor performs good in low-light, but is actually worse in daylight compared to other 12MP phones.
The Telephoto is good, it's just their 100x stupid marketing that set up expectations too high, and led to disappointment.
Battery is definitely disappointing as well. I expected 110+ hours on 60Hz mode. At least 95 hours on 120hz mode.
Hopefully Samsung will learn from this, and nail the Note 20 Ultra (if there is one).

Design is okayish. Better to put a Case on it.
Below par battery. If K30 and ROG 2 can give 100 plus hours of endurance, so can SAMSUNG with 5000mAh battery. 90+ HR is below par endurance for flagship IMO.
Best screen on the market.
Cameras are great but not perfect. Best telephoto on the market. I wonder how long will it take to fix certain issues. Since this is clearly not final SW. I'll be waiting for gcam.
Exynos performance underwhelming in multi core compared to SD865 and on par in single core but in real world performance, most won't notice.
Samsung should have put better cooling.
Chinese flagships are ahead in terms of faster charging and cooling performance. Even Redmi Note 8 pro offers some cooling. No excuse for Samsung at 1300 dollar price point.
Overall some areas leave you lacking. Still offers a huge upgrade for s10 uses. But I am Sceptical about an upgrade. Let's wait for the ROG 3 or Oppo Find X2 pro. Even the Mi 10 Pro is appealing. OnePlus has a real chance but they'll dissapoint with camera and battery as usual, Pixel and IPhones are useless, Huawei can nail it but the locked bootloader is a turn off!

The camera bump resembles the good o'l F480 one that was launched way back in 2008 by samsung.

Hype, hype, hype and then a big Dud.
S20 Ultra is even more of a fail than Z Flip. At least Z Flip has the folding appeal to it. The Ultra has nothing other than flashy specs to brag about (none of which live upto their potential).
I expect the s20/S20+ to be significantly better offerings, with less gimmicks and more value.

This review confirms a lot of thing I was thinking about. This year, Samsung didn't deliver the same way they did previous year, or their marketing was too optimistic. Numbers Don't do everything: 100x zoom, 8K, 5000 mAh, etc.
And the price is too high, not to mention the dull design.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is the S20 Ultra Killer, it should be on the list of alternatives.
