Not having build in GPS should be on the ADVANTAGE side of the review!
Its sleek and stylish - what it would not be if it had GPS.

Wake up!!! Gps can be installed its windows mobile, u can install stuff on windows mobile. They left it out and the phone is thin, light, attractive and still feature packed. If they added gps it would look like that nasty looking n95, good job lg- yeah leave it out, if u want that feature just install it, brillient!

What really is missing now is the technical 'know-how' of average people. In other words, the degradation of the human IQ. People don't bother learning new things and innovating nowadays. It would be fantastic if a phone can do what other electronic gadgets can at par or even better. Mobile phones are a must these days, just like computers; almost every family has at least one mobile phone and a computer with them, unless they are extremely poor.
Not much care about the difference of PDA/smartphones to average phones. If people knew more about the capabilities of smartphones and PDAs, people would want to have more of such features I previously stated.
And remember this, all-in-one devices will always be cheaper than buying 2 different devices with different functions.
For example, a N95 will cost you less than buying an iPod, a Sat Nav, a digicam, an internet tablet, a laptop, and a cordless phone.

I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that. It sounded right in my mind.
Either way, I have yet to see a phone equipped with GPS and all the other great features you are mentioning that was great at doing all of them. They seem to be okay at doing each of the functions and not great at doing any of them.
I think to knock the phone for not having what no other phone does isn't rational. No phone includes all the features you want and does a good job at handling them.
So peoples gripes about the GPS being included with all the other features seem to be with phone companies in general. Not this phone.
If it was SOOO easy to package it all together and target the phone at who they want, I am sure all companies would be doing it now. So there is something else we are missing.

You're statement is contradictory. First, you say you'd rather have 2. Then on your next paragraph, you say you'd rather have 1. So what are you trying to point out really? The logic on both your statements are vague; they are opposite.
When I said 'I'd rather have an all-in-one device', what I mean is a device that is good in all the functions it has, NOT MEDIOCRE. I believe that mobile companies can do better than release phones that are ONLY mediocre at best. Like I stated previously, why not add proper GPS receivers or cameras or MP3 players when it is highly possible??

Personally, I would rather have 2 devices that are excellent in their few functions, then to have one device that encompasses the two functions and it only mediocre at what it does.
I.e. I would rather have one outstanding employee work for me then two mediocre employees who get the same amount of work done.
But that is just me.

Lets look at the N95. The GPS function is mediocre at best. So now you have a phone with a very mediocre GPS device that sometimes doesnt work when you actually DO need it. I think you would be better off using a good dedicated GPS unit when you actually need it rather then relying on a mediocre unreliable GPS function on your cell phone.

Why not? If you can put a proper SLR camera, a MP3 player, a torchlight, a GPS receiver, a lighter, etc on a mobile phone, that would be a great idea. Innovative, as I should say. I'd rather buy a highly expensive all-in-one device, rather than buy separate devices that specialize only in one field. So why not reduce the clutter? Are you planning to bring all of these things with you all the time? If a mobile company integrates all these useful features into one device, they will be able to capitalize the mobile phone market. Plus, monopoly is non-evident because not everyone will be able to purchase an all-in-one device. But then again, if you have the money, why not??

Hi Jon2... Is it only GPS are you concerning about ?... is it only a GPS as a main factor to decide ?... Who said GPS is a MUST ? How long a mobile phone with GPS fully operated can last longer ? 1 day ? 12 hour ? 1 hour ?
Is the GPS is soooooooooooo important so people can not live without it ? How long you drive your car with GPS operated in your mobile phone ?
Come on... take a break for a while...
how frequent do you use a GPS on your mobile phone ? every day while you were going to work ?

I like the concept of "fashion" smartphone/PDA like KS20 is. Smartphone which dont yell geek/buisnisman. Great move LG. I would like to try it (because i can't afford to buy it :/ ).
p.s.
- As i could recall... Windows Mobile supports only 65k colors (or 262k - please answer)? So if you want to criticise display it is realy OS You should blame.
- Absence of GPS is good decision. Many people dont have a need for GPS (dont need at all or already have InCar device or something...etc). Why would someone pay more money for something he/she dont want. IF You want a GPS then You can always buy Bluetooth GPS device.
Also i heard a lot of critics for N95 GPS and that is something what You cant change. BT GPS, however You can.
My conclusion: No GPS - Great move LG

I must say, I find it rather amazing how some people these days view their mobile phones as the ultimate jack of all trades device. What do people want next on their phones? Printer? Sink ? Torchlight? DVD player? lighter? What is this a Swiss knife?
Remember a mobile phone is a phone. Want a good MP3 player, then buy a proper MP3 player. Want a good Camera, then buy a proper camera, want a good GPS, then buy a proper GPS device.
I have worked with and known professionals in the work force in different fields of work, and a GPS is not high on their list of must have's on their phones.
Anyway it seems like a very good phone, with most office applications included and working well.

Once again, why is GPS so important to some people? Is it just for the sake of having the feature?
I have yet to meet any professional who truly really used the GPS function on any phone they owned.

How can you call a PDA with NO GPS (a MUST feature for PDAs these days) perfect?! We're in 2008!! What's wrong with LG? Even a non-PDA smartphone like N95 8GB has built-in GPS! Sheesh.

Its pretty sad if you cannot get around without GPS. Its even sadder if that is the deciding factor in the purchase of a phone like this and the role it is supposed to fill.

please stop complaining about every phone for not having a GPS, 5MP camera with xenon flash, 16M colors or not having a VGA display. each phone has its target group and budget.
Comparing each phone with N95 is so superficial, indeed.
