I’ve been really looking forward to see the review of this phone and find it a bit unfair. I will be getting this phone eventually and I do have experience with the G7 Power also, which was a great value phone for £130 at the end of its life cycle. I’d expect the G8 Power to drop in price also in the couple next months also, making it a more compelling choice.

However, I do not understand how this phone can be worse compared to the Realme 6 at the end of the review. It has a better screen (740 nits vs 450) with better contrast, better speakers and the camera quality is pretty much the same or even a tiny bit better compared to the Realme 6 (if you check the picture with the giant snail statue you can look how blurry the grass looks on the picture taken with the Realme compared to the G8 Power). The only upper hand the Realme has is the better SOC in my opinion.

Ridiculous review. Tell us GSM Arena which other smartphones offers clean Android , smart gestures (quite handy) with a great batery life and powerful speakers?

Not everyone cares about speed charge or best photo quality. Some people just want a solid batery life , easy to use interface with no ads and useless bloatware .

I do think it's a very compelling offer.

Anonymous, 09 May 2020This phone has stronger CPU than flagships 2016, still some... moreI probably wouldn't compare it to a 4 year old technology, but essentially you're right, for many people these midrange chipsets are perfectly enough - for basic usage like browsing net or watching youtube, the difference between 665 and more modern midrange chipsets like 730 or 765 is virtually non-existent.

The only real difference is in gaming, and if someone only plays some candy crush for 5 minutes a day when they sit on a toilet there's no absolutely reason to pay extra for better CPU.

Yrock87, 09 May 2020This is not the Moto G power. I am typing on one right now... moreIt says Moto G8 Power on the box (first page), right? It also says Moto G8 Power in the About settings section, also on the paperwork we got. So, we are pretty sure it's Moto G8 Power :)

The Moto G8 Power is not exactly the same phone as Moto G Power (no 8), which I think is exclusive to a couple of markets.

And we've provided plenty of camera samples, so everyone can judge the quality by himself.

          Best,
          K.

Prasak u cizmama, 09 May 2020Well, it is not G Power, it is, like name suggest, G8 Power... moreIt's not gonna be 150 euro, more like 200-230 euro which is terrain of Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme 6 and have better specs at least on paper.

This one is great audio centric phone, both speakers and with headphone jack and near stock android, but Redmi and Realme have better processor, memory, more ram, better screen, the latter with 90Hz, and faster charging, 30W.

Thanks GSMArena for reviewing this device.

The review lacks information of what chargers it supports. TurboPower is a rebrand of QuickCharge, but *which* QuickCharge version?
A good phone in 2020 should support fast charging over standard USB Power Delivery -- something which newer QC and VOOC do, but older versions of these protocols don't.

The lack of headphone-jack audio quality test is a shame, but most people are not audiophiles. We only want to know that the audio quality is not below par!
Not long ago when those tests were done, there were indeed some phones that tested worse in this department than others: enough to warrant a minus-point in the wrap-up even.

For 150 euros, this phone is ok, no doubt, battery life is really, really, good, screen also, SD665, also, 4GB RAM is enough, software, also.. If you don't want Samsung Galaxy A11 (with SD450, and HD plus resolution), this one is great choice, for similar and low price.

Android support is not long for these non Android One Motorola phones, even not Android One phone, not many Motorola blotware apps (AFAIK, even these can be removed?), rest is pure Google.

This smartphone doesn't have a compass at least according to the specifications. This means you won't be able to use Maps while walking in order to find a route and/or directions, but it'll work while driving though.
Incredibly the review doesn't mention it so a clarification will be extremely appreciated since it's a really important feature

this phone is not a camera centric or multimedia, as the name says it's stronger point is the juice, and it does a great job. Too bad the cameras are not that great, although you are the first reviewer to criticize the camera!

This is not the Moto G power. I am typing on one right now and it has only 3 cameras on back. The fourth (hole) is the flash. You are showing pictures and describing it's sister phone, the Moto G stylus.

I have not done any comprehensive testinf of these cameras, but they are fine for daily use selling this online and taking photos of kids.

I seriously question the accuracy of your claims considering you are either mistaken or misleading on the very phone you are reviewing.
