Congrats Motorola! Good work! Can't wait to see how the Edge+ does (despite it lacking a microSD slot which is ridiculous that the cheaper phone has it...).

Siba7411, 18 May 2020Great to see Motorola bring back it's 'A' game. That phone ... moreThe widevine situation will just allow 720p and 1080p playback.
Screen is not HDR, you cannot fix this. Hardware thing.
You will still only watch in SDR.

        1) According to the graphic provided by audio test, this one has better result compared to Edge+ ( more of the line near 0 means better).

        2) Daylight photos are shockingly awful. Whole city looks like wax (feature very welcome at dxomark labs according to score they give to few brands)

        3) Cannot say about night photos, almost all of them are more than iso10.000 (of course they will look trash this way), it was not supposed to raise iso that high. I suppose outcome would be much better at lower values (800-1200, like most would use for same scene)

Also, I love the daytime image processing by all the cameras in the Edge. They are boosted, punchy, sharp and yet look so natural. The camera comparison tool clearly shows how beautifully the Edge captures in comparison to Oneplus 8. I must say, Motorola has finally delivered a top-notch, well-rounded smartphone experience and that minimalistic vanilla UI just makes it even better!

Great to see Motorola bring back it's 'A' game. That phone looks gorgeous, though we have seen the curved display implementation on Samsung devices. Nevertheless, the device looks great. They might fix the HDR10 content & widevine issue through a software update and also the unnecessary upscaling in the camera department. I wish they had made the vanilla edge a slightly more compact than it's edge+ sibling.

That's pretty decent actually. The Edge+ should be even better. It seems Moto is back in action.

"Switching to Manual mode and leaving all options to Auto will shoot 8MP zoomed photos. The good part - you are getting very detailed 8MP 2x zoomed images and accurate colors. The bad news - the lack any software enhancements like HDR and multi-stacking"
Smartphone camera manufacturers must understand that white balance settings must be available in auto mode, not only in manual mode, if the image quality in manual mode is worse.

Ho ho this is a good phone. Thank you gsmarena for the review! Also i accidentaly deleted all my notifications and I want them back, can you help me recover them?
