As for S20's 865 version, I can attribute this to battery saving attempts by Samsung, given that they're already having a tough time with 120Hz displays and battery life... and they don't even have a big battery.
Either that or its a poor cooling system/management resulting in throttling.

Bloatware I don't think can be a cause.

Those phones are simply better optimized."

From this statement of yours, it is obvios to anyone rhat k30 pro just has a higher throttle limit. Or xiaomi was stupid enough to put worse software in their flagship compared to their budget flagship. The first one seems more likely.

I have been using redmis and oneplus lately, none of the big brands.

Well, mediatek was indeed found cheating with their helio series chipsets, but none of that happened with dimensity. I like dimesnity 1000+, its provides close to 865 perf at much lesser costs.

It also measures ram, ui , AI, read write speeds,GPU etc.

LG, Xperia and other phones come with 8gb RAM only and therefore score lower.
Chinese phones easily giving 12-16gb RAM. Hence the higher score.

You are just salty that your big brand device loses in Antutu and real life.

BTW Mediatek hater, what do you have to say about Dimensity?
They must be cheating on performance as well according to your logic.

As for high end earphones, you're right that it matters in volume terms, but volume output itself is not quality.
How many high quality open air headphones do you get which have 10ohms? Doesn't this mean your headphone market is killed even by consumer standards once you get a weaker DAC in a phone?

High end headphones by Sony will exist in market, but not for you. Simple.

As for $300 phone with $600 headphones, exactly why not? Who made this "rule"?
Why not get a $200 LG V30+/ $350 V40 Thinq/ G7 thinq and try a big ohm open air headphone for yourself and tell me if they don't sound good?
                    Didn't you ever try a $1000 lens on a $300 body in DSLR's?

I think you're right in most things, but you're trying less phones.... Try some of them in person, compare them, then do get back to me.
GSMArena states that they all are excellent, which is clearly wrong in my experience.

To the best I know, Samsung Exynos 9820 and 990 are both huge failures, not even able to keep up with last year Snapdragon 855 in real life performance, and more around SD 845...
No idea about Snapdragon versions of Samsung flagships though.

The upcoming ROG 3 gives score of 642k coz of overclocked chip and 16gb RAM.
You do realize that Antutu isn't just about cpu benchmarks, it judges overall performance including read write speeds, RAM, GPU, AI, etc.
Most of these Chinese flasghips have ufs 3.1, more RAM, which does add to the overall SCORE.

And both OnePlus and Oppo flagships are leaving the S20 behind in real world speed tests.
You are just salty that your fav brand Samsung is lagging behind not so BIG CHINESE companies.

Yet you're saying I was wrong.

All current midrange phone can handle good amount of impedance(upto 50) easily.
So if you wanna buy a headphone with 50+ ohm(+ similar good specs) then that headphone is going to cost 500$+. That's in high quality segment. Like I said the difference is noticeable for high quality headphones.

You really don't think an user to buy his/her phone for 300$ and buy the headphone for 600$.
                            Do you ?

AnonD-754814, 08 Jul 2020I'm not an expert on this. But I have slight idea, don... moreNo, its wrong. In my knowledge, even GSMArena never said this.

I'll explain. USB-C might give out a pure digital signal which may itself be high quality, but from a 3.5mm jack, you get an output dependant on the quality of DAC inside the phone... and this reflects in any head/earphone.
This signal by itself may give good, high quality output, if the output is amplified, which means there's no resistance in the circuit. But non amplified headphones/ earphones do have resistance.

High Impedance headphones increase quality by increasing resistance, but they also lower the volume on a particular voltage... Which means, if your phone can't handle a regulation earphone at full volume, how is it expected to handle 32 or 61ohm headphones? This is also a big problem in today's phones. Low voltage and low volume.

How about testing at your home/ shop demo sets...? You'll yourself hear the difference. And you can use your basic earphone. I'll give you some comparisons.
As the better phone, you can choose LG G7, G8, V40, V30, iPhone 11/ Pro with its original adaptor, etc...
As the worse phone, you can choose most of these oneplus, mi, etc phones. Choose Redmi Note 5/6/7/ Pro if available.
Use a track you listen to a lot.

Let me know what you find out... Then we can both post the truth together. ;)

Blackkk Mamba , 09 Jul 2020When did Asus cheat on benchmarks? Any proof? Links? My S1... moreRepeated benchmark is completely different thing. It proves sustained performance. Not peak performance. Asus ROg 2 is a gaming focused phone. Of course it will do better in repeated benchmark. Also note that Asus has the plus version SoC. So, it will be slightly better anyway.

                                But what my point is,
The benchmark score shows that ASUS ROG 2 is ahead by almost 1 generation score.
That's not what we see in real life performance. Asus Rog 2 does better but not by 1 generation.
This proves some benchmark cheating is going on.

Oppo and oneplus are doing it more aggressively. Their latest flagship scores are around 600k and Samsung s20s are around 550k. Yet when it comes to real life speed test or Speed test G(by androidAuthority) they fall behind Samsung,
                                Why ?
Because instead of making the SoC more optimized they cheat to get high score.

I admit that ASUS doesn't do huge cheating like them but it still does.
