Using external 5g modem cost them that extra percentage in terms of battery life.
69hr endurance in 2020 is not acceptable for a "flagship phone" especially when it is running at low end 60hz.

The phone has good value for a "ultra compact smartphone" but that value immediately goes down the drain when you hear about that terrible battery life.

Tbh, Sony managed to put 2700 mah on the XZ1 Compact, and seeing how Apple likes to do custom stuff, it would have been wonderful for them to manage to put a 3000 mah battery on this thing.

Cute little phone....yeah the battery life is poor, the notch way too big for the mini, but to pack flagship features in a tiny phone. Who says Apple doesn't innovate? 🍎
Just avoid the inferior regular i12 Pro. Not worth it.

Got my mini yesterday, charged it to 100% last night and unplugged before going to bed, after 24h my battery is at 50% with my normal daily use. So your comments for the battery life are irrelevant, if you want bigger battery, buy bigger phone. :)

‘Good battery life for such a small cell’. Now, you guys said that the One Vision had the same endurance rating but instead of what you said for the iPhone 12 mini, you said ‘Underwhelming battery life,’ and for the Mi A2, which had a respectable endurance rating (in my eyes) of 72 hours, you said ‘Uninspiring battery life’ What. Is. Wrong. With. You?

I think you are way too fixated on the battery size instead of real-life numbers. Even the regular iPhone 12 has a 2800 mAh battery, which is what Android phones had five years ago, but it still lasts pretty well.

They just had no interest because larger battery would increase the cost of the phone and decrease their profits.
Xperia Compacts were smaller than iphone, with 2600-2700mAh.

There aren't many phones available that you don't need to top up overnight. Compact phone users aren't going to be doing the same amount of media consumption as larger phone users, so it probably works out to about the same practical battery life.

It is no mini. It is bigger than iphone 8.
Looks like similar size to s10e.

If you care long battery life you clearly buy big phone which can fit bigger battery instead this mini. This is for people who want small compact phone with one hand usability and are ready to pay for tradeoff having lot less battery life.
