JDK, 28 Nov 2020the only difference between the pro and the pro+ is that th... moreNot, + got free-form ultrawide lens, so ultrawide is "ultrawide" with no distortion on physical lvl. Also 3x camera is brighter than 5x, then also 10x performance would go to huawei again.
Not sure if memory etc affects camera performance, but + version got such upgrades insides.
Hopefully they ramp up production so p50 with new cameras and new mateX will be available worldwide. Shame they do not offer raw in all fov like sony and jack, but for non serious shooting its best auto format.

I say huawei will win out on zoom, but the ultrawide and main camera quality should be the same.

People are funny
- They feel frustraded when phone A loses to phone B, when phone B has much larger sensor, almost 2x the size.
- They cry because phone C with 2x or 3x fixed zoom cant match using digital zoom the phone D packed with 5x periscope.
- They complain cameras such like 1/3.6" f2.2 for example performs poorly at night. Seriously anyone expected a 11mm2 sensor to do usable photos at night when even a 90mm2 camera cant do it?
Using a decent screen to check them, even the camera that took the photo of your first ID can do better.

Something like 1/1.54" instead of 1/1.33"....

Would u mind helping me a little? I currently have a Z2 Plus (Zuk Z2) w/ SD820 since 2017. It hardly holds any charge now & I'm mostly near a plug or computer.
I've been contemplating on buying the Lumia 950XL bcoz of its camera ever since I heard Mr. Mobile (Michael Fischer) refer to it in his recent video. I've known that the 950/XL and Lumias in general were on top in terms of phone cameras at their time, my family had 3 of them(925,625,730), but I never imagined that they would keep up with today's lot and in few scenarios beat them. I've gone through several articles/shootouts on the AAWP website and even though the name says on which side the writer would lean, there's no doubt that the Lumia holds its own ground damn well.
So I'd want your or anyone's advice for that matter whether buying the 950XL for around INR-20k ($270) would be feasible (I mostly want it for it's camera). My only concerns with it are no Whatsapp (which everyone & their dog uses even for office use), the average/sub-par battery life due to the QHD screen, a worse browsing and video watching experience & the bad zoom performance after the Pureview zoom range.

On the main camera, which i use 90% of the time:
I preffer Note 20U, I'm not a Samsung fan, but the sensor size, good lens, no cropping of the sensor pixels, results in an image i find best.
The second prefference would be Sony, which has extraordinary natural looking leaves and grass, better than Samsung IMO but which is heavily pulled back by noise from the smaller sensor and some blurriness on the margins of the frame.

Huawei's non+ is enough for comparison lol. Still, for me as photophile and audiophile, xperia with raw's/other alpha tech and jack with great dac is the best.
Other xtra-hdr stills are unnatural, but no jpeg+raw means you would lost details in shadows.
When sony brings hdr raw and hi amp in jack, it will be ultimate performer, at least for people like me.

Why use the Xperia 1 II over the 5 II? By GSM Arena's own admission, the 5 II improved the quality of the images, particularly for the telephoto.
Also, why not use Photo Pro and Cinema Pro for the Sony?

Considering the current prices for all these phone, Xperia 1 II is the main looser here. WTF Sony??? You're supposed to shine here but you're definitely not! Bloody Note20Ultra with no Zeiss lenses and Googless Mate 40 Pro are better in pretty much any single scenario. What a disappointment for me personally. I expected Xperia to be a winner here...

Reviewing the Sony in the camera app cripples it. If you're trying to compare the capabilities of these phones, you should be using them to their full potential. Even the auto mode in the photo pro app gives much better results than the camera app.

Now I’m going to sit and read the comments, where the brand obsessed fanboys on both sides do just that, pick what they want/need everyone else to agree is the best, based on their own biases.

not only the best Camera but also the best performance phone is mate 40, the only catch is, that it doesn't have Google services, if it did it could've been the smartphone of the decade
