Matt James Paradise, 23 Feb 2021Long term would be two years. This is not long term. 🤦Then by that period this iPhone12 will be trash like every other Android phones except for Pixel phones. Those Android phones won't be updated anymore.

The dreaded green bubbles that effectively makes you a second-class citizen.

The camera lense glare on the pictures after taking the shot due to direct light is the biggest downside!

MrDong, 14 Feb 2021The iPhone 12 Pro Max does not even have a thermal throttli... more90% stability on 3d mark. What are we supposed to do with some benchmark?
Real world gaming prowess is tested with real games.
It can't go beyond 45fps on Genshin Impact due to lack of cooling. Snapdragon 865 easily scored 58-60fps on a proper gaming phone like ROG 3.
Keep your benchmarks to yourself as IPhone scores 1600 in GeekBench yet loses to ROG 3 with score of 960 in real world speed test.
Air triggers are super useful. Only people downplaying then are people who don't have it on their phones.

I don't get it. When android phone has no 120hz is out of date, iPhone is not. When android phone has no jack or sd slot is very bad, for iPhone it is fine. When camera setup is last year's it is a problem only for android phone. And so on and so on...

They have great GPU but limited by hardware. Lack of any cooling solution is also a problem. OnePlus 8 Pro is much better for gaming than recent iPhones.

Maria, 14 Feb 2021Aftermarket repairability is better on iphones? Like , $400... moreThe critical parts of an iPhone are still easy to repair. iFixIt rated the iPhone 12 a 6/10. Highest for a modern flagship. Compare this to some flagships where a screen replacement also requires a new battery like Samsung. The Note 20 Ultra only received a 3/10. Screen replacements are also very expensive.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021No.. Just No... If gaming is a priority, gaming phones are ... moreThe iPhone 12 Pro Max does not even have a thermal throttling issue. Scores above 90% in 3D Mark and the thermals are pretty good.
I have a Samsung S20 FE 5G with 240Hz touch sampling rate but my iPhone 11 with half the sampling rate responds much better based on personal experience. The touchscreen accuracy is a lot better and near-perfect.
Airtriggers etc. do not appeal to most consumers anyway. Can just buy a dedicated console.
Watch some PUBG Mobile tournaments and phones such as the Xs Max and 11 Pro Max are being used by top players due to its great optimisation and high accuracy touchscreen.

Kingslayer, 13 Feb 2021I know a lot of people hate Apple, iOS/iPhone, their fans, ... moreNo.. Just No... If gaming is a priority, gaming phones are the way to go.
IPhone has thermal throttling issues due to lack of dedicated cooling, pedestrian 60hz with touch sampling rate stuck at 120hz touch sampling rate, lack of air triggers, lack of emulator support among other things. It's just not an efficient gaming platform.

Kingslayer, 13 Feb 2021I know a lot of people hate Apple, iOS/iPhone, their fans, ... moreYou missed reliability, ecosystem, fluidity, battery life, and performance. For everything else (is there anything else...?), pick Android.
