Don't take me wrong, I never own new laptop, but for phone, unless you find old stock of flagship, or a very, very mint used phone, don't bother. Most of the sellers aren't honest that the phones they sold have problems - that's the biggest problems of used phones. They sell it for reasons, most of the times, in my experiences of buying used phones, those reasons are problems, otherwise they will keep using it. What else you think they sell it if it's a good phone anyway? Sure there's money problem, debt, or whatever emergency situation that might force the previous owner to sell it, but those are rarely the case. Second, you are already covered about battery, there's another problem of amoled - they tend to yellowish with ages, or having shadows. In the end, you might need to replace one or more things before able to used it "properly". And remember about the warranty too. With those drawbacks, to anyone wants to own a new phone, and dare not to take any risks, I will always recommend them to buy a new one, even if it costs as much as used flagship phone. Fortunately, this kind of thing rarely happens when I buy used laptops.

            This is why they buy cheaper phones.

            I know many that would be perfectly satisfied with a simple phone that has HD LCD screen, 3GB ram, 32GB storage, single rear 12MP/13MP camera, 10W charging, 3800mAh.

              At this price point, fitting an SD720 chipset, an inexplicable downgrade from its predecessor the A71, is simply unacceptable. The performance benchmarks demonstrate how it's outgunned by other handsets half the price.

              It's also way heavier and with bigger bezels than the A71.

              Yet another bemusing fail from Samsung.

(Hilariously, part of the value for that was bundled access to a pay-TV sports channel. In November 2019. So that went well. 😂)

                    The battery was a real concern though and it will be again. If I get an A72 it'll be with that in mind. If an ROG Phone 3 is a viable used option I'll likely get one of those, given that it's got very good battery management. But it wasn't officially launched in my country, and the ROG Phone 5 (which was) is a banana.

                      i myself, i'd buy a 2 year old flagship instead of some mid range phone.

                      but sometimes, for the same price, i can literally find a very competent midranger


                      like the poco f3, same price as the iphone xs, and s10(+), which has an incredibly powerful 870 chipset.

                      however, the camera, is a very big luckluster, but charging speed is very great. battery is good too.

                        you mention the motorola edge as alternative, but there's nothing about it in the description. The edge is now cheaper and has better hardware.

I just looked for some comparison reviews between the two phones. Couldn't fine zoom comparison, but main camera often takes better pics than 21-series (Even the ultra). 21'S pictures are often oversaturated/unrealistic.

                              Considering that this is an upper midrange-tier smartphone, I'm actually really impressed with the 3x zoom telephoto camera quality. Dare I say it, I prefer the photos from this phone instead of the same 3x zoom photos from the S21/S21+. If Samsung put the latest flagship-grade SD 860 4G chipset and use USB-C 3.1 while including the DeX support, 11 out of 10 this will be my new phone on the desk. But from the perspective of an average consumer who wants a better camera experience than the A52, I can definitely recommend this phone.

                                also samsungs A series has took a turn for the worse
                                they used to be full metal body phones (even the lowest A3) and now its plastic back plastic frame and for the same price, too, blegh

                                good to see IP, OIS and samsung pay come back however

                                  the flagships usually have
                                  - MUCH better screens
                                  - equal or usually better performance (only lose out to midranger by using older gen tech but still much faster than any SD7xx(G) chip)
                                  - MUCH better camera (software obviously, may lack in hardware but megapixel count is a gimmick these days *cough* xiaomi, and at least all your cameras are useful and you wont get crappy 2mp or 5mp depth and macro cameras)

                                  - midrangers usually skimp out on a lot of stuff too to cut costs (especially hardware like GPS, proximity, gyroscope, compass, light sensor, mic, speakers, earpiece) and try to use dumb alternatives these days due to the advent of bezelless screens which can just ruin the overall experience and make it fail to function even as a basic phone at times

                                  - lots of other features that you wont find on midrange (IP, (reverse) wireless charge, DeX, etc) and also much better hardware (fp sensors, mics, speakers, overall build etc)


                                  the only thing old flagships lose out on are

                                  1. battery (also possibly made worse thanks to previous owner)
                                  2. software support (but can just flash a custom ROM, and this isn't iOS where just a 3 to 4 year old OS version can instantly become obsolete for app support lol)


                                  hmmmm A72 or S10 (or even a vanilla Note 20 here) for the same price???????

                                      -Middle East A52 is $319 and N10P is $300
                                      -Europe A52 is €316 and N10P is €291
                                      -in gsmarena international sites you Get A52 for $324 and RN10P for $279 etc.

                                      Lot of examples, and in many places Xiaomi is not available official price is even higher like North America.

                                        Yoedi16, 30 Apr 2021720G is inferior to 732G in both gpu and cpu performance ... moreSd 720G has slightly single core perfomance advantage over sd 732, it's small margin but it's there, and also in gpu sd 720G lose for small margin.

                                        In real life device with better cooling and optimization will win.
