John, 20 Aug 2021Jack of all trades, but master of none? I'd be way mor... moreThat is what jack of all trades means, it can do all in this case including stuff other brands can't.
Master of none would be on the performance part, the throttling is heavy here and the phone still gets hot, but that's more of a 888 issue because 5 II didn't have these problems as much.
I do wonder how hot the Xperia 5 III is in daily use, my LG G8S gets very warm but not hot under heavy benchmarks, but it never even gets warm under normal use or even gaming.

Snacksnack, 26 Aug 2021I have a 5II - just deactivate the button from your setting... moreHow can i deactivate this stupid Button? Sony theirself tells nothing about and under System-Gestures for example there is no options like on Nokia Devices. Sony is stupid. Also no casual 4K60FPS video ist idiotic.

Personally I would not choose any Chinese brand and prefer Japanese, Korean or even Taiwanese (currently still using a LG V10).

that aspect ratio is really bothering me.
i'm a fans of Sony since Z1C until XZ2P for now.
but now they change the screen aspect ratio, even longer than other's 18:9

svaberget, 09 Aug 2021Didn't the same thing happen btw Xperia 1 ii and Xperi... moreBecause GSM always tested 5 several months later than 1, resulting in a better system/firmware/software. After the system updating to 61.0.A.11.31, the third or forth update after the release, 1 III is significantly cooler when gaming and charging, and the battery life is longer. Now I enable 120 hz and get a similar battery life in my use as the 60 hz with the old system.

1000 Euros for this? I don't know dude.
A Mi 11 can be bought for 400 Euros less, and it has a much better display, charging.
Although Sony's software isn't even as polished as MIUI, which has been refined a lot.
Or even a Mi 10T Pro from last year, I actually don't get why they price it so high up, while there are better value phones half the price.
I doubt that if people buy this, they'll just replace this with another phone.
Unlike some people who actually value phones, which they use for 5+ years.
I don't think this phone is good enough for everyone.

I'd be way more than happy to have a phone with all the essential features like the headphone jack and microSD card support rather than buying a flagship phone that solely focuses on the camera or the display but doesn't have any of those essential features. No way in h*ll I'm going to spend more money for wireless Bluetooth audio and cloud storage on top of an already expensive smartphone in the first place.

What pixel other than line A does 6xx use? Even on the A series it only made it 3a, but don't worry, it inspires a lot of confidence comparing a mid-range of $ 400 to a high-end of $ 1000

Makes me think this isn't a preproduction issue but something else
Could be the ToF sensor actually making long range focussing worse?

Was there ever a reason on why the Photo Quality Comparison "Good Light" image is so much worse than the Video Comparison "Good Light" still, the Xperia 5 II, or the 1 III? It doesn't line up with the comments on relative camera quality between the 5 III and 1 III, and the photos in the article don't seem to have the same issues.
