Menhir, 10 Jan 2022@GSMARENA: Is Ther a chance/possibility to measure real dis... moreIf you check out the phone on the maker's website, it actually sais the true display size extending beyond the screen curvature. Also, you are right, nowadays display size means almost nothing. You have to see the aspect ratio of the display, nowadays 20:9 seems to be the norm, which gives narrow and long displays. I also check the width of the phone, between 70 and 74mm wide are perfect for one-handed use for my hand at least. Lastly, curved screens give the impression of a wider screen, but the very last 1-2 mm at the edge are unusable.

gsmfan1, 09 Jan 2022Yeah especially when most people slap their cases on. Havin... morePlastic is cheaper, nastier and worse at dissipating heat, which for a Samsung phone is a dealbreaker lol

@GSMARENA: Is Ther a chance/possibility to measure real display size? I will try to explain... I have an old Samsung Galaxy S10. The real display width is around 2mm more than S20, S21. Actually display width is the same like on S20+, S21+. In real live it is big difference when you are working with emails, even keyboard is more suitable for work. It is nice to have bigger display,Ike on S21FE but in fact it is not more practical. It is just more "noodle" not bigger display. For example if you check apples iphohe you will realize that they are more width than many of Android phones and for practical reason...

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2022I hope folks start to stop getting samsung phones again lik... moreI just gave up and went for the cloud storage options, in case I've needed one. The last phone I had with an SD-card slot was back in... 2014-2015, I guess? Had many phones without card slot since then, and now I have a phone with 128 GB storage space, of which I'm using about half. Mobile connection coverage is generally pretty reliable here, so there hasn't really been issues with not having access to cloud data. In the end, this has worked out quite well for me. Sucks that they remove useful features that many others would like to keep using, though.

              I cannot understand this release.

Ok, it has a better screen, more processing power and gorilla victus (comparing to the S20 FE - which was already at €450 here).

But in some markets the S21 is cheaper, even now! And the base model of the S21 was already at €555 on Black Friday.

So the sole purpose of the S21 FE, at this price, is to make the S22 look like a cheap phone.

I hope folks start to stop getting samsung phones again like when majority of people who are both fans & customers of samsung ditched the galaxy s6 for removing sd slot. It had a drastic drop in sales during that time & samsung had to revert what the have done. Sadly I dont think it will happen this time.

If Samsung had been smart, they would have included expandable memory on this device.

That way it would have been different enough from the upcoming S22 to attract die hard fans.

Im just telling you that i wont even think of buying this and maybe you too don't intend to. we are wasting our time with Samsung. Samsung stopped listening to fans after s10. And their audacity to call this phone a fan edition is simply astonishing!

this is probably the last year I'll wait for a compact phone then I'm cancelling Samsung altogether.

Where's the headphone jack? I can't find any mentions here. A52 and its versions, A72 all have a headphone jack. Does this mean S21FE is inferior to A lineup? Because I certainly don't see removal of features as an advantage.

How would you like a car without music entertainment system? It was removed and price was increased by 15%, speakers removal charge. Because it was a special feature - now you can buy more expensive speakers and install it in the car for much better sound! Awesome, right? Totally worth paying 30% extra, right?

100% copy of iPhone with Android inside, usb-c and no notch and I guarantee success

I had a chance to play with it for a moment at the electronics store today... The back panel is sooooooo slippery. 100% necessary to put a silicone protector on it. And then it becomes even bulkier than it is right now. It supposed to be much more compact so with bumper it is more or less pocetable.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2022Why s20 fe and not s21?i think battery life of the s20 fe is better, it also has a real 3x telephoto optical zoom, something the s21 lacks.. Plus it's cheap, in italy it's sold for 350€ some time ago for the 4g snap version.

There is the standard upcoming s22 for that. Not as small as I Phone but 6.1 is inches is compact enough for many people. Also samsung or any other android manufacturer hasn't in perfected great battery life with smaller batteries such as the one in the Iphone mini (not so good battery life to begin with) so it's a good compromise to have a 6.1 inches screen to accomodate a larger 4,000 mah battery.
