Nick Tegrataker, 26 Feb 2022The quality control is all up to Samsung. Chinese phone man... moreUnfortunately, one fact is that even the "good" S22 unit produces noticeably worse photos than 2-year old S20 I currently have (please refer to my previous comment). The second thing is that - unfortunately - Samsung's quality control has a lot to be desired, yet the customer support is fair in this matter.
In the past, I had defective S7's front camera which - after 3 unsuccessful service repairs - has been replaced for a brand-new S8. Kind and nice from Samsung. But the S8 I received was defective as well, back camera this time. Repaired 3 times and works perfect now. My wife has this phone until now.
My current phone is S20, which was perfect from the very beginning, but - seeing a clearly defective lens in GSMArena's unit, seeing in person how bad S22+ photos are and remembering my S7 and S8 yourneys, I'm really not sure if I want to risk S22 purchase. Too bad, as I'm pretty much zoom nerd and I miss the proper tele lens in my S20.

Nick Tegrataker, 22 Feb 2022The photo samples in this article have such a dogs*** lens ... moreP.S. I tried out a different unit of S22+ at another store, and it seemed to be suffering from the same lens quality issue that is being mentioned in this article. Very unfortunate indeed.

Already seen a lot of comments about the camera problem of this phone, and unfortunately, I will add one more about it.
I find myself in this position again, about to purchase a new phone, to upgrade from S10, so I was happy about this review of S22+.
But in the final chapter, it has a point in the Pros conclusion that it surprised me, as it praised the camera found in S22 to be as good as the one found in S21, or even better, so I took a look also at the Photo quality comparison tool:
https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=4&idPhone1=10626&idPhone2=11252&idPhone3=10625
And also on the Video quality comparison, the same issue.
And something doesn't match, as on both Good light and Low light photos, in all of the parts of the photo that appears fine and thin drawings, as for example the napkin with the donkey in the right, or the happy soap or sponge yellow-green from the top, or the gray face of President Lincoln on the banknote that shows wrinkles, and the yellow dots from the left, and the column from the left edge of the banknote, and many more other details, all these details, appears clearer, sharper, and better on the photos taken with S21 and S21+, and worst blurry, on the one from S22+ as it blows away all of these fine details, even in the version with Detail Enhancer enabled, although is a little better with this function enabled.
After I read the review about S22+, I was determined to buy it and placed an order on S22+ (not paid yet, waiting the confirmation). But now, after I seen the photo comparation, I was found in a big confusion, as the sharpness and quality of the camera is an important aspect for me, and now I found that S22+ camera is worse than the one found on S21+. Maybe it’s a software problem, or maybe the phone received for the review has some problems, I don’t know.
Hopefully GSMArena will help us by clarifying this issue, that so many people have raised.

Lmfao.... yea... moreif it's so desperately needed than why did they drop to 8 gigs? If it's such a huge problem you would think this review (or the tech youtubers reviewing this phone) would have pointed that out right? Srsly samsung has to know that if they drop the amount of ram then supposedly it would impact the user's experience right?
btw were those stats pulled from your ass? "known majority have over 20 apps installed running" "Every apps you install it will run automatically in background which takes 100mb ram" what are you smoking?
pls don't take spec sheets at face value

Lmfao.... yea really 8gb is enough. Apps has too restart, once going back too open them. Android takes up 4gb ram, with only 2gb ram free, while the system must have reserve 1gb ram or else it starts too lag and slow down
Every apps you install it will run automatically in background which takes 100mb ram,
Know majority have over 20 apps installed running and that's not enough.
Why not stick too 4gb ram. Why the hate on 16gb ram. Is it costing or weighing you down cause its 20kg too carry. Good too have reserve.
People like you still exist is beyond unbelievable, must I say you're a Troll?

From what I seen, S21's zoom, hi res and sides of shots are sharper. Did not go any further, S21 got also hi res raw(which is probably even sharper). S22+ looks like S21-.

Mentioning no 3.5mm jack in 2022 as a con for a flagship device is honestly a joke. Hardly any device in the same price bracket have the jack and it just feels like a con has been added to increase the count of negatives rather than a legit con while using the device.
