bulbulito.bayagbag, 27 May 2022For flagships, it should be atleast 3 years of os updates. ... moreFor flagships, it should be 4 years of android updates, nowadays that almost everyone(soon Realme too)is asking over 1000euros and the hardware is more than capable to support that.

I mean even Samsung offers that on their mid range devices,so there is no excuse(except greed as usual) for companies to offer only 2 or even 3years on their most expensive flagships(except from Sony fans who think is ok for Sony to ask 1400euros with just 2 major updates....

Best display and camera phone , i am going to buy this one when launched in UAE.

Eddan, 26 May 2022If we look at what Vivo says it's two years os updates... moreFor flagships, it should be atleast 3 years of os updates. As Apple provides minimum of 6 years, Samsung 4 years, their A series 3 years of os updates. Chinese oem's tend to not prioritize os updates, you are lucky getting 1-2 os updates. That's why a lot of their phones tend to have this 'disposable' label.

Anonymous, 26 May 2022Excuse me, but you are wrong about Samsung flagship not get... moreI came to support that, my Note9 had got his (presumably) last security update and the Note10+ is on Android 12, running OneUI4.x smoothly and with a lot of perks added along the way! I have the S22U too but kinda prefer the X2 quality of the N10+ over the 3x on S22U. Focus isn't that great on 3x, perfect on others and the 10x is wow, even in video!

After reading the review I was so looking forward, I AGAIN came to conclusion that the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro STILL was the BEST CAMERA PHONE.

The S10 series also from 2019 already received the 3rd update to Android 12. Regarding your V17 Pro getting Android 12, good for Vivo to give it 3rd OS update. But it's also kinda weird decision by Vivo considering their 2020 flagship X50 series still on Android 11.

About 10 years ago Nokia was already using xenon flash on its top devices (N8, 808 and 1020 lumia). What is holding back actual manufacturers to take this step and have a proper solution for night portrait pics?

Crazy oversaturation and weird artificial blur. This is aimed at a very specific market.

Eddan, 26 May 2022If we look at what Vivo says it's two years os updates... moreIt appear to be yeah, so the basic minimum since Samsung expanded to 4/5Y depending on the model. Perhaps in the future :p

TheFoneBear, 26 May 2022Alright, vivo is all game and whistles and whole nine yards... moreI have been using a v17 pro.
It regularly receives software updates. To my greatest surprise vivo updated it to android 12 earlier this month. Considering that vivo v17 is a mid range phone of 2019 produced with Android 9, not even a Samsung flagship could boost of 3 major updates. So trust me, Vivo has regular Support updates

At these prices, sorry but how long will be the support ? That's a concern when you spend 1000+ :)

Nick Tegrataker, 26 May 2022Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra, and 12 Pro want to have a word with you. There won't be a X80 Pro Plus.

Alright, vivo is all game and whistles and whole nine yards with hardware and camera but what about software support and major android releases specially for global market? If they're not going to honor it then no point to spend cash at them. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, and unfortunately vivo didn't live up to their word in past.

I'm in market for a new phone for personal phone. S22Ultra from work and battery drains pretty fast which appears to be a biggest complain about this phone. I'm only using it for slack, calendar/gmail notifications. authentication for work system, watch wrist shots, and always on display at 60% to not miss any notifications. Not even writing email, no chat and no web browsing yet battery last for 2 - 2½ days. Battery should last longer if not for 4 days. Yes, I've adb'ed Samsung blotwares which weren't much thankfully compared with say 2016 phones. I think it has to do with Exynos that Samsung is desperate to push at EU users.

Google Pixel 6 Pro is good, no doubt, except for finger print. Perhaps most of the complains about this phone are from US users where Pixel 6 Pro has some additional hardware stuff (mmwave 5g), and of course my phone is from batch assembled in March 2022. I'm waiting for Google Pixel 7 Pro and their accompanying tablet.

Was hoping to pull plug on Vivo or ZTE but after reading about lack of software updates, I'm skeptical. Let's see what upcoming Mi 12 Ultra got under their sleeves.

Hopefully the main cameras of upcoming phones are with at least f/1.6 for low light photography.
