I bought the bv9900 pro when it first came out. The device has gone through Hell!!!!
It fell from 3rd floor height in a construction site more than 4 times.
It fell on the highway while I was driving my motorcycle at 140 km/h.
It was run over by a car.
IT IS STILL WORKING
Finally I left it on the stove and the plastic on the back melt horribly.
AND it still works.....no words

I've had the phone for more than a year now and still no update from Android 11. I understand the need for stability in an operating system but the phone is starting to lag behind. My Google Pixel 5 is on Android 14...
I feel it could do with more customisation options.

You think the lanyard hole is giant? I think it is rather thin. I’m not sure it wouldn’t break, say with it on a lanyard around your neck while jumping down something with my bike…

The notch exists because the earpiece is in the way!
The camera would uabe to be off-center otherwise.

I agree though that notches are another corporate job-creation scheme / profit pseudo-justifiction that is marketed as a feature but is actually a defect/misdesign. But on the BV8800, I found the rounded corners to be more annoying. The time almost looks cut-off in that top left corner there!
Can we please just have rectangles??

It is not like night vision goggles though. Those have residual light amplifiers and don’t need IR lights to illumimate the place. So you can’t see further than your IR LEDs or additional ID flashlight goes.

Glass screen protectors are actually worse.

Who cares about scratches? Is a thing even really used if it has no scratches? No self-respecting man owns pristine tools with no marks of any work having been done. My last Blackview had a grind stone mark “right across the face”.
Breakage is where it‘s at! And plastic doesn‘t break nealry as easily as literally-designed-to-break glass. An ideal phone screen would be *all* plastic. Also, protectors can be just peeled off and replaced if it gets too hard to.see through.

Uuum, Ulefone is literally a Blackview knockoff! A bad one. Blackview is the OG!
Acting like Blackview copied Ulefone is painful to read.
Yep, definitely new to Blackview you are. ;)

Stock Android does not do much about it, so you need to be grown-up and pay attention to it.

Removing unnecessary apps was a good decision. But if newer Android offers it, remove their auto-run and background running privileges. Then you can keep even bad apps if you stop them after use. (Telegram being a case in point. Although it has a valid reason: Avoiding Google censorship by avoiding their push service.)

Jay-r, 01 Nov 2022Although it has a large battery for about 8380mAh but it... moreYou *seriously* need to look into killing apps that keep wakelocks! (Esp those that crash so you cannot remove the wakelock without reboot!)

It is the reason Huawei started nannying by killing all apps unless you manually disabled it for an app.

I had the exact same problem in 2015 with my S3 mini.
Got a tool to analyze battery usage and wakelocks deeper, identified the bad app, uninstalled it, and I was almost back to normal.
It had taken a toll on the poor battery. But $10 got me a new bigger battery and it was better than ever.

Mediatek chipsets may not be the fastest, but they definitely are economical on the battery.

The reason for the notch position is truly beyond you? Come on! 😆

The screws aren’t there for decoration… go take a peek inside. You will instantly know why the camera is not above the screen… inside where there is literally the protective case that prevents the camera from breaking when it falls down in the first place!! 🤣

                        Yes, it is that thicc.
                        Yes it’s awesome.
Yes, the manufacturer uploads disassembly videos.
Yes, the damn thing survives a full washing cycle.

The only thing that ever broke my $180(!!) BV6600 back in the day, was hitting it, face-on, against the sharp corner of a fish tank. Right in the middle of the screen. Literally bending the aluminium sides.
I *think* it is forgiven for dying from that. 😁

Also, seriously, fully discharge these large quick-charge batteries before trying to unplug/misplug any internal connectors. Unless you want to use their amazing fire starting feature! 😇

I have an older bv9500 and the software and battery life is a league above new bv8800. Unfortunately got in tussle with power miter saw. Still works with hole in back, just not so waterproof. I find the big battery boast a joke. Wants me to change power settings to 15 sec display. A real joke of a had been excellent product and Blackview took a couple years to screw up their product line.

Although it has a large battery for about 8380mAh but it's just like an ordinary phone with ordinary battery tho,coz it drains so fast,,and the time when i charge it,it's too hot, both the charger and the phone, you'll feel worried coz it might explode,😢😢 maybe overthinking but it's just sadly true,,

I disagree with Bv8800 battery life; one would think that a massive battery would perform. Initially, it ate the battery like pouring water out of a cup. Had to delete bloatware and install 'Greenify'. Not an advertisement, the truth. I have an old Blackview 8600 I believe and it's performance outshines my new bv8800. Fully charged out of box and charged, ate 18% just sitting there overnight. Would live to hear advice as to extend it's life even more.
