Guys, complaining about why the crease is there and why it is less visible on competitors' devices does not make sense.
You can either have S Pen support and IPX8 rating OR the waterdrop hinge. The combination is not possible today, at least nobody has the technology or the right idea for doing it. I prefer the two options over the waterdrop hinge any day.

Just in case someone asks why?
Regarding S Pen: the actual display and the digitizer are “glued” together. There exist no bendable digitizer yet which means the fix part has to cover both the display and the digitizer. In Z Fold, only the bendable area has no digitizer and it has to be very narrow otherwise the algorithm would not be able to calculate the S Pen position in that area. But the waterdrop hinge requires a much wider bendable area.
Regarding IPX8: it is the similar reason: the wider waterdrop hinge would not allow to have two separated “slab phones” to be sealed in a traditional way and the loose bendable area would not be IPX8 as well if it was too big and too flexible.

What i wanted to say is Samsung owns more than 74% of fordable market share but bots are dreaming in here. Why would kings like apple and samsung change. I guess not only chinese but apple released bots coz z will eat iphone pie.

Just get last year's models and save a few hundred bucks. Every dollar that's saved matters more these days. Inflation and recession is tough.

Samsung nailed it with the number 3 that it's tough to really improve on what's good to begin with. The 4 is just a lazy attempt by them. It's tough to top that number 3. Think Tekken 3 and Metal Gear Solid 3. Still two of my favorites from each series. The Fold 4 and Flip 4 should really be called a 3S like iPhone 13 should be 12S.

Fold 5 and Flip 5 should be more meaningful upgrades. Fold needs to have cameras better than the Ultra series. People are not paying $1800 for inferior cameras. It needs an S-Pen with silo. Crease needs to disappear so it's easier to draw on it. Flip 5 needs a bigger cover display to make it more useful.

Razr 5G still has the GOAT design for a foldable flip phone. Ok, maybe the Razr 2019 (or 4G) arguably looks better. But the 5G corrected a lot of its mistakes. And 4G networks might only last 10 more years. With 5G, we get 20 more years. Motorola knows how to make the nicest clamshells. The KRZR was hot stuff!

That crease is absolutely horrendous! Why on earth has these amateurs not been working on reducing its size is beyond me. Also this is just a Fold 3 with a new useless 50MP camera. Image quality won't be any different anyway. Samsung is so lazy.

And again, still using those old, preferable to be in the museum, 25 watt charger so you can take an hour to sleep in daylight. And use those 15 watt wireless charging if one hour is not enough for you. LMAO

I have Fold3. I saw today fold4 and I was holding one in my hands in Frankfurt. The difference is.... probably 1mm and 10grams. A little bit in camera. But nothing can push me now to spend around 1000 Euro to have fold4 instead of fold3.

Love Fold4 ratio is chic and not cheap like other tofu.

Nope, still too expensive. In an age of recession/depression, other than fanboys, there isn't the bang for the buck with this thing. Plus, if you read a lot of articles, the protective screen will have to be replaced in 6-9 months because it bubbles. If you remove it and try to replace it yourself, it voids the warranty. In the USA unless you live in the LA or NY area, that requires you to send it in, wait a week or two to get it back.

The Snap gen 1+(TSMC)is very welcome, compared to last years snap888.

My only complain is on the batteries, which again should be bigger.

I have had my Fold 3 for 8 months now and that darn crease still bothers me, especially when the screen is so reflective.

The reason why those Folds are not selling is that they still have problems from iteration 1, the original Fold. Small battery capacity for two screens, the front screen is ridiculous in aspect ratio, the crease has been there for 4 generations. The Oppo Find X is still the best form factor out of all foldables.

I think it's kinda insulting that Samsung is the undisputed leader in foldables but they still can't get rid of that deeper crease that the other Chinese OEMs already figured out. I'd want a Fold with an S-Pen and slot once that crease is completely gone and I can draw on it.

I watched Michael Fisher's video earlier today and I can tell he's not very excited about these 2022 models. But I know he'll still get them because being a techtuber is his job. He needs to be updated. He can't be stuck using last year's stuff. I can imagine he'll trade in his Fold 3 and Flip 3 to get his Fold 4 and Flip 4. But he'll use the Razr 2022 more than his Flip 4.

I would love if Apple releases a flip phone the same size as the iPhone 12/13 minis or even SE 2016 when opened but can still fold in half. I'd buy those in a heartbeat and I hate iOS. Specs would be crap but I don't care. I'm no power user and want to reduce my Internet usage. I want a small and light slab to turn into shorter and thicker one in my pocket.

People on this forum are amazingly negative.

All cellphones from here into the future are going to have nothing but incremental upgrades. The iPhone 14 and next year's Samsung's S23 series will feature a bunch of incremental upgrades. I pulled my 5 year old Moto out of a drawer and, compared to my new top end phone, it is still extremely functional.

Flip4 has a lot of improvements. I'm not sure how or why forum denizens were expecting anything more

Nice. These will sell like cupcakes whether who cries.

Jealouser always say apple designs lazy and now samsung.

Kings have best designs and dont need to change.

Samsung owns 74% of fordable phone market share.
