Anonymous, 29 Sep 2022My phone cost $500 but a $1500 iphone isn't 3x faster.... moreI don’t know what phone you’re comparing, honestly. Costs $1900 AUD here for a 128GB version. A Samsung A53 would’ve costed around $700 I think with the same storage. And the iPhone is 3x faster than the Samsung, build quality is 3x better, cameras are also 3x better overall.

Oh and the Pixel also has a boatload of bugs 😀

Latom, 29 Sep 2022Now with "from any other phone in the market" lol... moreiQoo? Far from it. Rubbish front camera, limited software support, poor aftersales and service networks. UI seems to imitate other brands, maybe not iOS but other Chinese phones. Only the primary camera works well. I think no current phones are close to perfection

There's no near perfect phone yet. Or maybe there is. Vivo IQOO 10 Pro?

Aside from Apples great processor. I really dont understand why people think Apple phones are so special. The UX is just plain awful. Galley, what the hell is this?? I have the 14 pro for my daughter which I am setting up right now, the setup process is pants - made me reenter the wifi password as it did an update during the onboarding?? The widgets are almost pointless - seem to be link to the main app. The settings app is a complete mess. Quick settings is so limited. IOS needs a proper revamp. Sorry, but OneUI is far better as an OS. Apple do have the better hardware in terms of processor and maybe some apps i would like to see on Android, but that is really all.

It's heavy, still has a notch even thou ultrasonic scanner is readily available, fast & secure. Very slow charging speed. No usb-c etc. And for its price it should have sapphire glass on front.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2022Barely beats 778 Precisely. Tensor is explicitely a mid-range chip, there's no way around that.
Samsung manufacturing process (understand Exynos-based architecture) takes a toll on battery life as well.
However, the custom ISP along with Google algorithm decimate every phone camera in the market.
This includes including Apple and their fancy A16 Bionic w/ new 48MP module.
Tensor 2 in Pixel 7, despite using same CPU, will have a new ISP, so it will only improve over that. Of course performance in games will still be vastly inferior to S8+ Gen 1, upcoming S8 Gen 2, and the A16 Bionic.
But don't forget that 99% of mobile games are greedy trash, so it doesn't matter.
If you want the very best, bleeding edge mobile photography that'll blow you mind everytime, Pixel remains the only way to go.
Don't take me wrong, Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max takes great pictures, most of them are technically comparable to Pixel 6, they just don't have the appeal.
They're flat & dull, chaotic neutral. Pixel shots are wallpaper-ready.

Pacifica Northwest, 29 Sep 2022Tensor is the product of a collaboration between Samsung an... moreSo, practically they are going back to Qualcomm. Then why do they even tried this Tensor thing? Is like they are saying: "We know that Tensor chip is not as good as Qualcomm's, but we wanted to try something anyway". Typical Google style. Starting something just because they have the money and they can, but not having the guts or ambition to finish it. Or at least make it better or more competitive.
Is the same case scenario with Samsung and Exynos. After years of just releasing inferior chipsets (in Europe at least), now they admit they were wrong and they want to implement only SD chipsets starting with S23 series.
As a Samsung customer, I can only ask: What was the point of all this inferior Exynos chipsets for all this years? They weren't more efficient, they weren't more powerful, they weren't cheaper, they weren't competitive.

Don't know what to think about this "review"... Everything is class-leading, but when I look into your photo compare tool, I don't see nothing class-leading on iPhone 14... i'm actually disappointed.. that ugly over sharpening etc...

There will probably only be three generations of Tensor anyway, maybe then they'll go back to Qualcomm, though that's just a rumour.
