For me this would be the Foldable to get. The bigger ones all have more flaws, this however seems daily driveable to me. Compared to the Flip 4, I also prefer this design, it just feels more like it's had some designer come in, instead of Samsungs "smartphone but elongated and folded" concept.

Ren, 04 Nov 2022"So the whole display scales,"
And yet it scal... moreI can't speak for Moto's scaling, but the one I had on Xperia Z Ultra and the one I just tested in the Mi Max scaled perfectly.
Essentially making it a smaller display, simple as that. No weird stretching or artifacts. The UI is essentially running as if it was a smaller display, running that selected screen sized area of the display as it's native resolution. Nothing is stretched and there's no foggy UI elements nor text, unlike when changing dpi in windows. Essentially a crystal clear, smaller display for those occasions it is needed.
Too bad if the implementation others offer isn't like this.
EDIT
I see the new implementation on my Mi 11 sucks, and is nothing like the Mi Max. It just moves the screen downwards, not even compressing it to in example a 16:9 aspect ratio with the whole UI included, just moving it downwards, cutting out large parts of the UI. What a rubbish solution!
Fortunately I don't need it on this relative small display, as far as width goes, but still. What a massive downgrade of a function.
Not much we can do about other than complain and hope to be heard :-)

And yet it scales wrongly, I can tell you that much (as a software developer myself)
anyhow
But I don't want to go to deep into it, I don't care if a phone is wide or not, but I do agree with the previous commenter their statement that people that don't have such issues, don't understand them.
And that is fine, but it does work that way.

GSM Arena as got the pricing incorrect. The official UK retail price is £950. They haven't research the price correctly.

AnonD-546724, 04 Nov 2022Design went from iconic to generic in one gen. Thing is... moreEven worse, this phone feels more like they made it to compete with the FIRST GEN Z Flip. The horizontal camera set-up, how the cover screen looks like it was just taped on the lid instead of blending into the whole thing like the Razr/5G. It doesn't feel like a Razr. It feels like a Z Flip with extra features on it.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2022Razr 2022 looks better than the Flip 4. It has an exterior ... moreI think the Flip 4 has a more cohesive design. When opened up, the Razr looks like two mismatched halves

AnonD-546724, 04 Nov 2022Design went from iconic to generic in one gen.
Thing is... moreThe Moto still has a better aspect ratio on the main display (20:9), essentially a similar aspect ratio as most non-folding phones has. The Flip4 still has a very unusual aspect ratio (22:9), and the secondary display is too cheap still on the Flip4 compared to the Moto and the massive gap on the Flip4 when folded still makes it look like a beta device. So as far as I can see the Moto still has the better design, by far.
The fat lip won't be missed by me. I didn't miss it in the RAZR2 (V8 and V9) either, although they kept a little bit of a lip. Maybe they could've replicated, or maybe that would've just lead to wasted space.
Could they have done a bit more, with regards to pattern etc. sure, but not exactly what is most popular these days, minimalism is.
I still have this design on my RAZR2 V8. Some hated it, liked it a lot - still do.

The lid pattern would've looked nice on the RAZR 2022.

Design went from iconic to generic in one gen.
Thing is, design was the only card Motorola had left to play, when Android RAZRs were compared to Samsung FLIPs. Now that it's gone, I see no reason to pick this up over any other android clamshell of the market.
Bad, bad move Moto.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2022Hard to explain for someone that doesn’t have the issue.
... more"I and many hold their phones from the bottom, with your pink under the charging port so it doesn’t glide away and ring finger (if right handed) holding the left edge so you don’t drop it."
This is how I also hold my phone :-)
"Just for simple scrolling the phone is not wide, the problem starts when you use one hand to reach poorly placed (a common thing online) website elements or when you type.
Because here is the thing, one handed mode of a keyboard doesn’t change how wide a phone is (makes sense, that would be nearly magic), but also one handed keyboard modes scale poorly too, "
On my current phone this is a non-issue, so I have not enabled the one-handed mode in my Mi 11 (6,81" and 74.6mm wide), but on the Z Ultra I did on occasion use the one-handed mode. Sliding from the middle of the bottom to the side you want it on, example to the right. I think on most current phones this is available for the whole UI, not just the keyboard. The one-handed mode would shrink the 6,4" (16:9) display to e desired size, like 4,6" or 5,5". There were multiple options, I don't remember them completely, but I assume such features still exists.
EDIT:
I just checked on my Mi Max, that I still have. There I can choose between 4.5", 4.0" and 3.5" in one-handed mode, just by sliding from the middle navigation key to either left or right. So the whole display scales, not just a single element, like keyboard. Essentially looking like my old RAZR XT910 now. Not sure if this is something that is manufacturer specific or not, since both Sony and Xiaomi has/had this functionality.
EDIT 2:
I forgot my son has a G9 Plus and I checked there. I cannot find such a feature. I did a quick google search and no luck there either, so it seems this is something Motorola doesn't offer. It does look like some Motorola models support it, called "Swipe to shrink".

Haha
Reminds me of people that buy a €1000+ phone and use it naked and look disgusted at you for using a case.
Because they have a money tree in their garden so they can outright buy a brand new phone when it breaks, while others do not and really care about their stuff.
Reminds me A LOT of that.

Marco M, 04 Nov 2022I find it funny how grown people complain about such things... moreHard to explain for someone that doesn’t have the issue.
I and many hold their phones from the bottom, with your pink under the charging port so it doesn’t glide away and ring finger (if right handed) holding the left edge so you don’t drop it.
Just for simple scrolling the phone is not wide, the problem starts when you use one hand to reach poorly placed (a common thing online) website elements or when you type.
Because here is the thing, one handed mode of a keyboard doesn’t change how wide a phone is (makes sense, that would be nearly magic), but also one handed keyboard modes scale poorly too, a lot of people try to adjust to it and claim “there is no issue”, but there is and it is a logical one too.
And there there is the price, people complain quicker about a phone being too wide for one handed use not only because that is really a issue, but also because you don’t want to drop the thing for the price it does cost.
But again people that don’t have these issues rarely to never understand them.
