When. Available in nokia x200 and nokia x 30

This is a very good phone but a very ambitious pricepoint. DOA. Only a die-hard Nokia fan will buy this at 520 Euro, even at the discounted 450 Euro this is still mediocre at best.

Carol, 29 Nov 2022You forgot i mentioned the same quality, then specs. cause ... moreAre you a HMD rep or something?
You seem very passionate about defending a brand that is releasing overpriced underspecced trash - and expecting consumers to not vent or express their opinions.

I've used the G60 - and I can honestly tell you, it feels cheap and trashy. The battery life is below average, and the screen is very very average. The sound quality, call quality and volume level is seriously awful, and the promise of "monthly security patches" is an outright lie. At the time of use (Nov 2022), it was still stuck on September's security patch.

Putting the awful call quality to the side, trying to justify the high price of the handset with low specs, no TPU case or charger in the box, is dreadful.

You know nothing about the labour costs of the handset or how HMD is manufacturing it, but if it's any consolation, it's not even manufactured in the EU, and many parts are sourced from abroad/China, just like all those Chinese brands you like to regularly bash and criticize.

I know you're probably going respond to this comment with further defensive gibberish, but the FACT is, HMD can't be taken seriously, they've fallen behind in almost every category. Their phones barely sell, they barely recieve any mainstream reviews or mainstream publicity, and they're barely sold in mainstream markets.

It doesn't take much to guess why that is.

They do however, regularly get trashed by those that are unfortunate enough to use them.

People wouldn't lie for the sake of it. There are many disappointed customers. Just look across the nokia/hmd forums, and youtube comments and read people's posts. Quality control doesn't seem to something HMD are very well acquainted with.

Nokia were a fantastic brand, and did amazing tech in the past, but just by touching the G60, you'll know straight away that this isn't Nokia, or what Nokia would have ever intended their handsets to be or want to be.

The X30 is even worse than expected. Overpriced, underspecced and totally eaten by the often (cheaper) and more competitive competition.

          RIP HMD.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2022Sony have some of the best battery optimisation on Android.Totally agreed. Hence probably why the XZ2 Premium had decent battery life with a tiny battery

The same mobile phone would have been produced with a better Snapdragon SD782 processor.

It's a shame GSMarena didn't review the Nokia 8.3, X20 or XR20. I expect there would have been similar if not greater criticisms than the X30, but they are all worthwhile devices depending on your use cases.

The X30 really should have had a 7-series processor, the decision to use the 695 is either born of cost cutting or not being able to better optimise the battery. My experience of the 480 chipset has been very positive and HMD implemented it especially well on the X20, but the 695 is not enough of a meaningful improvement as it shares the same modem, GPU and limitation on video resolution.

Personally, I find myself initially disappointed with modern Nokia branded devices but come to appreciate them over time as coherent and well-rounded over long term use. The 8.3 for example did not get a fair chance, especially because HMD delayed the release due to COVID and the James Bond marketing tie-in.
