"In practice, you'd be getting more or less the same selfies. The increase in resolution doesn't necessarily translate in all that much extra detail - if anything, the older camera had nicer, more natural rendition. That's not to say the S23 Ultra's selfies are bad - on the contrary. Dynamic range is excellent, colors and skin tones are accurate (no yellow tint), and noise is much better controlled than on the S22 Ultra."
Unexpected from Gsmarena.
Excellent Dynamic Range, more accurate colors and skin tones and much better noise control yet, you say that user will get more or less the same selfies! Didn't understand!

Main cam is not even 10% better than previous.
The other are worse at night compared to 22U.
Video skills are weaker than 22U ( which was not that good to begin with).
Battery life is only advantage over 22U in the end.

dd, 11 Feb 2023Bloatware pushes the Galaxy S23 Android OS to an incredible... moreThis claim is misleading. You may check updated information on various tech media. It is a problem related to unit conversion. e.g. 1024 vs. 1000. You may want to check Android Authority or notebook check

Base version has 8gb RAM 😣. Not enough with the amount of bloat and multitasking uses the phone ought to do.

Bloatware pushes the Galaxy S23 Android OS to an incredible 60GB
When an OS update gets downloaded, a Samsung phone, with only one copy of the OS, will have to reboot and have as much as 30 minutes of downtime

" We're getting more vivid colors overall with a general tendency towards extra warmth and also brighter shadows (possibly slightly brighter exposures altogether) - all of this leading to images with more 'pop'."
So, instead of fixing this huge issue and offense to the act of photography , Samsung just made it even worse. 👏🏻

Still the king of Android smartphone, though it may be pricey. In Hong Kong the base version is 12+256, with a price tag of around 1235USD.(Hong Kong has no sales tax). There's no free storage upgrade though.
I'm still content with my Note 20 Ultra, but the screen starts to show tints. Samsung has not pushed the envelope on ultra models.
I'm gonna retire my secondary phone Pixel 5 and pre-order S23.
For Ultra? I'd like to wait one more year.

Thought they would wait maybe 2 weeks to publish until samsung sends updates to make camera less lame.
