disapointing, 21 Feb 2023The only disappointing is how poor they evaluated the Noise... moreIf I have to choose which way I prefer, it will be definitely too much noise, then too much noise reduction. You can easily reduce it, but resting details taken by noise reduction is not possible. Same with sharpening. I prefer a softer image, that I can easily tweak with any, even inbuilt in most galleries editors, than having to oversharpen with halos and artifacts. So I even wish that Samsung tones down both noise reduction and sharpening in default processing. Or, if they are adding more things to Camera Assistant, they could add Noise Reduction, Sharpening, and Saturation dropdowns with 3 possible values: low, medium, and high.

Actually they rated so bad on something that is only a software tweak, not a hardware issue. For Samsung, the reason to keep that low was the criticism about preserving the details in the past.
      The truly funny thing is that if Samsung release a software update, the S23 Ultra becomes automatically the best cameraphone! They can easily get 15 more points only of Noise section! They don't need to change anything else to get the crown!

They have some work to do with he processing. Too bad they opted for this 200MP 0.6µm sensor as main, instead of using the GN2, or revised version of this.

            I’m not biased either way,I love my iPhone 13 Pro Max and I also have just got a s23 ultra.Now what I have noticed is the Samsung screen isn’t as clear as the iPhone screen even at the top definition it seems to have less whiteness to it,that’s vivid or natural mode,I’m presuming it’s the apple True Tone that makes the screen seem more pure,the Samsung screen seems artificial to me and even in comparison reviews on YouTube between the 23 ultra and the 14 pro max the Samsung screen seems off colour??

If I had to choose only one zoom, that would be something like 2,5x for perfect portrait shots. And again, if I had to choose between having zoom at all and great UW, I take UW. So for me, smartphone wining in the "best zoom" category, is like some beauty content on the other side of the planet. Congrats, but I don't care.
              As for the battery I agree, that everyone will be happy about the improvements in this department.

You can't use that with Bluetooth. Besides, what 99,99% of people listen to on phones is heavily compressed audio (streaming services) or just old MP3's. Bad audio doesn't get magically better if you pass it through outstanding DAC.

                  And yeah galaxies, especially the notes, were always known for being top and all around best performers.
                  But in the last so many years that gap diminished and its only by small margins.
                  Especially with the way they've become lazy, and greedy, complacent. But so have most companies at this point.

Both of these are really good pros. As for the rest I agree, it's the best in overall but not because it's immensely superior in every single aspect. But we have to think also that no phone is the best by anything significant.

                      It's also hard to be the best in overall, and Samsung is the only brand that has been capable to do that. All chinese brands, for example, fail in some or many important aspects. For example, none of them gives a proper front facing camera, all have laugheable 1080p front cameras.

                      Some still even use 1990 technology like the obsolete USB 2.0 or barely 2-3x zooms, not a single one supports really Hi-Fi 384kHz audio like this Samsung does, no S-Pen competition, and so on... Samsung offers more quality than anyone else does. And that's undeniable.

It's by far the best phone on the market and the king of 2023 and it doesn't matter if it's barely February as no chinese brand is capable to make something that can even compete with this Samsung. The S23 Ultra crushes out the chinese garbage like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo... which are inferior in most if not all aspects!!!

                              I can understand the pain of the haters, as Samsung has made the perfect phone in 2023. Some can't just accept the fact that Samsung made the best phone in history and that it hasn't got any weak points. Even GSMArena staff says it in the review!

                              And about DxoFake scores let me laugh some more... but it still got a better score than Vivo X90 Pro+ and Xiaomi 12S Ultra LMAO! Even we count them as "good" the S23 Ultra got reviewed with the pre-release software, while for all of the other brands they wait weeks or months. But that page just makes scores considering the payments they receive - the more you pay the higher you go on that laugheable ranking!

Especially in limited quantities.... moreThing with noise is that you can always filter it as much as you want, none, a little or a lot. If you smear the photo with noise filter, you can't unfilter it anymore. That's why it's better if there is more noise rather than too little.
