Suggest don't buy another Motorola. It's one of the brands that is too slow delivering OS updates. Android 14 is about to release but it's flagship 30 edge have not received 13 update yet. You will risk security and waste of money.

Aierlan, 10 Apr 2023Basically you converted a price for this phone from Euros t... more"and added on a few dollars"? False. I simply converted the currency.

"you need to compare all prices from the same market."? False again. If a consumer can buy one phone for a certain price, then they can compare it to another phone of a certain price. Simple as that. A thousand bucks for this is overpriced. They want to sell it for that much? I'm going to compare it.

"You can really only assess whether it is overpriced or not by comparing with the price of other phones with similar specifications in the same market."? False again. A company could go and sell million dollar phones in one country while another company is selling comparable 1 dollar phones in another country. Other phones being priced at two million dollars in the first country doesn't change the fact that a million is overpriced, fool. Comparing trash to trash doesn't make it any less trash.

joe nodden, 10 Apr 2023Bro what? Explain where I'm supposed to be wrong there. Basically you converted a price for this phone from Euros to dollars (and added on a few dollars). But in your comparison with other phones you used the Chinese price (or import price from China to compare it against). My point is if complaining about the price and comparing prices you need to compare all prices from the same market. If you are using a Chinese price for one e.g. the Nubia and Xiaomi phones, then use a Chinese price for all (also for the Motorola). If using a European price for one then use European prices for all.

If you compare a Chinese price for any Chinese branded phone with a European price for a different Chinese branded phone it will be a skewed comparison. You can really only assess whether it is overpriced or not by comparing with the price of other phones with similar specifications in the same market.

Perhaps you are unable to read because I clearly stated, "Xiaomi 13: $715. Still overpriced though. Ever since Xiaomi started thinking they were some premium company they started jacking up their prices."

My reading is fine. You stated that Motorola was a thousand dollar phone and Xiaomi 13 is $715. Thus you clearly infer Motorola is more expensive. I'm not arguing at all which one is better. I'm only pointing out the comparison of prices is not like for like.

Aierlan, 09 Apr 2023But using your logic of using Chinese prices for other Chin... more"But using your logic of using Chinese prices for other Chinese brands against European prices for Motorola is just dumb."

                            False.

"You can also import Motorola phones for much cheaper and the x40 (edge 40 pro) will cover a lot more bands than your Redmi k40 "

False. More, but not "a lot more" nor any more important ones in my case. For me, regardless of the one I choose, I wouldn't be able to use 5G Band 71, only 41. No mmwave on either. And I get LTE bands 2, 4 and 5 on both. I only get two more LTE bands on the X40. Said bands have not made a difference for my family members with different phones on the same network. The situation may change for people with different carriers or for those in other countries, but I'm not those people and cannot speak for them. All I can say is the X40 does not appear to have that much better connectivity.

"so if you want the cheaper price (like you have quoted for the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 13 and Nubia z50) you can import in the same way you could for those other phones."

Ok? That doesn't change the fact that this rebrand is insanely overpriced. It only adds to the reasons why you shouldn't buy this overpriced rebrand. And the Z50 is still a better deal.

"For example, it is cheaper than the Xiaomi 13, whether it's the global variant or the Chinese variant so your price comparison is lacking a little in critical thinking"

Perhaps you are unable to read because I clearly stated, "Xiaomi 13: $715. Still overpriced though. Ever since Xiaomi started thinking they were some premium company they started jacking up their prices." I never said the Xiaomi 13 was a good phone. It's terrible.

1080p IPS screens give full color resolution but this does not apply to OLED due to the sub pixel design. More resolution on an OLED panel is brute forcing the problem away.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. 60 megapixel selfie camera yet no autofocus? Pixel knock off with the GUI but it's not advertised anywhere?

Motorola's priorities are always strange and incomplete.
