    Worst brand ever in terms of services and battery heat and screen is very dim compared to even midrange phones from top brands in the market. Now with its hefty price and following the stupidity of Apple by removing charging brick adds to its problem. Never again to this brand!

        sorry, worst phone you can get at this price.
        1. camera, and app:
        - a few time i try to open the open app and the phone only show me blank screen
        - in camera apps, if notification come in, it will cost the whole image to shake
        -i purchased this device, for the camera. The main camera is some what ok, but the wide angle and telephoto is meh... . Especially telephoto, the image is soft af.
        i mean for real, how sony dare to publish such expensive phone taking such poor image.

        weak gps and connectivity:
        -always searching for gps while using navigation app
        -same place, different phone, other phone's data running but my device show no signal

        battery consumption:
        -can't even last thru out my working hour

        Battery and Heating Issue :
        -During Charging, top left of the phone feel hot
        -connecting to android auto will also cause the phone heat up
        -same charger, my old phone manage to charge the battery up but this phone just drain the power away (weak power management)

        Lack of Apps:
        -no built in compass, altitude meter, nor note apps.

        preventing accidental touch:
        -does this even functioning? every time i put my phone in the pocket, the phone just ghost click on its own, keep on clicking the passcode, turning my phone into airplane mode etc.

        Lack of Configuration:
        -the phone dont give you much control about your phone, like intensity of the vibration
        which vibrate like want to tear itself apart when i place it on wooden table
        but seem to be soften after update. still unavailable to adjust the intensity by myself tho

        Conclusion:
        Such a disappointment for Sony with this price tag. Expected to be more stable, better camera, and better battery management from battery. I just wish to get a stable phone and able to last me a few years of usage. Turned out they just throw out a gimmicky stuff like optical telephoto zoom and such bad experience for handphone part. Regret for such purchase and seeking for others brands phone as replacement already.
        Now I know that sony is good for enthusiast product like headset (I owned wh1000 xm 3 & 5, a6000 apsc camera) but for a combined product like this, I will try to avoid at any cost in the future.

            Can someone give me advice. I am using the Japanese version of this phone. The resolution is not 4k, its HD plus. I bought it from Amazon for 1k USD. Netflix, Disney and Disney plus do not have 4k options for this device. What is going on? Does anyone have any idea? I have checked out the resolution using various android software, but it's never 4k. Otherwise all the other features check out.

This is written by a person who has a full frame (35mm) camera capable of 4K120p with the lowest amount of noise on the market..
              They are probably competitors' employees. No normal person who tested 1V will write such nonsense with "weak camera". With the entry 1V into the market, we have a new chapter in mobile videography. Have a nice day.

A pro would never buy this as they... moreYou expect people to carry a usb adaptor plus other media, when it's perfectly possible to just have an internal one? what kind of logic is that? The fact is, the only reason they took out the microSD slot is so they can upcharge people who are running out of space with their cloud services. Their cloud services is so slow compared to accessing the microSD card and also it requires you to always use your data or have wifi around you. You obviously never use high end cans if you don't think having a 3.5mm jack with quad DAC as unnecessary. And as for the camera. The reason people prefer Sony is because no other phone vendors give you RAW images without any sort of AI interference. Samsung's RAW is still AI influenced. Other vendor's definition of RAW images is "I will still mess with the output but won't compress it. Sony is the only one will leave your RAW images alone. Also. Samsung's pro mode is laughable.

                      Who is this phone for?
                      A pro would never buy this as they can just get S23 ultra and shoot raw.
                      An informed noob would never buy this because it's expensive and frankly there are options at half this price that are better for noobs like the pixel phones or iphones.
                      This phone is designed for sony fans, it offers no advantage over the competition and it's main draw, the camera is weak, this is why it put on these non features on the device that are simply not enough.

                      And to those dying on the expandable storage hill, you should know you can plug in any card into any android device, you just need a USB adapter, you plug in the card, you copy your photos, you take more photos, it's as simple as that. I'm not saying it's not a nice to have but to expect this price for this device? What is sony thinking? Oh yea I know, they're thinking fanboys will buy this without thinking because it's a sony brand item.

                        Great, but nearly no one cares about Micro SD, 3.5 MM jack and few care about wireless charging too. Also top camera? Where, they don't even do sensor crops for digital zoom... like 200-300 $ phones do that and this doesn't...

                        Also 3.5 x? They ran out of lenses or? I get that 10x is our of flavor even with Samsung since I hear the s24 ultra won't have it but 3.5? That's weird, just give me 5 or just give me 2, and again how do they fail to implement sensor crop when literally every other flagship does it?

                        Audio? Really? Cause I compared an a54 with my s23 ultra and a pixel 6pro recently, I also recently held a Moto 30 ultra and now I am handling a motorola g73 and you know what? The samsung A54 has the best speakers amongst this bunch, what does that tell you? Also you are into pro headphones and you think you can power them from a jack? Sorry I may be getting upset here but honestly, you can't. I mean you can, but you won't get much out of it, you just get enough to make sound but if you want to make them sing you NEED an adapter, it's basically mandatory to have like at least a Fiio KA1 otherwise you're basically listening to expensive headphones running cheapo sound from these devices.

                        I agree with you that expandable memory is a must and not having it is a joke.

                        My point is, that this phone right here is a disappointment, you expect sony to deliver in the camera department but they kept it minimal and safe but they charge the same as a s23 ultra? Really? Cause sorry but there's no comparison here in what you get with that and what this offers.

                          This is the real flagship phone of 2023.
                          1) No other phone has microSD, 3.5mm audio jack, wireless charging and top level camera and features
                          2) Audio: what's wrong with other vendors? I tried many wireless headphones (and have Technics AZ80, a very nice ANC earbuds), but none of them compares to pro audio headphones connected with wired 3.5mm audio jack....and no...I don't want to deal with any adapter, thanks!
                          3) Memory: Expandable memory is a must! 256gb or even 512gb or 1tb of NON expandable storage aren't useful at all when your phone dies (temporarily or forever) and you have valuable stuff in your memory. When in vacation and in remote places you'll lose all your pics and docs, as cloud isn't enough. Had a S23 fall in water and it died forever. Lost at least 200pics and vids that weren't synced to the cloud yet. Never buying another phone without microSD / expandable memory.
                          4) wireless charging: there are many phones out there costing 600-800 and even more money, without wireless charging...are you kidding me? ....if you think this should be a mandatory feature on any phone in 2023, we are on the same page.

                                      Not true. Show photos with your camera. Im 99% sure you lie because 1V has better Auto than Manual - becuase you got nightmode and auto HDR in Basic.

                                      It strange because I recorded 4K in 120fps (!) at sunny day @30C degree for about 1-1,5hour (short samples) and never shutdown or alert from camera.
                                      Show your phone with photo.

                                        After one week of usage

                                        +
                                        1. Good performance
                                        2. Good battery
                                        3. Good photos in manual mode

                                        1. Camera is not good in basic and even auto mode
                                        2. Some small things are missing
                                        e.g. You can't adjust the vibration strength or speed dial is missing! Or when you want to take the selfie, you need first to go to basic mode and then change the camera. It could be automatic! It's not hard!
                                        3. After taking 20 picture at home in auto mode, camera shutdowned because of over heating! It was strange!
                                        4. Notification led is missing
                                        5. Charger is not enough for this battery (even the 30w fast charging one)
                                        6. No soft shutter key in landscape mode. I'm not convenient with physical shutter button. It makes phone shake a little and has negative effect on photo quality
