Sony Xperia 1 V review

I have a 5yo Galaxy S9plus. For the last three or four upgrades I've been disappointed that Samsung didn't build in earphone jack. Every opportunity I get to comment online I mention the possibility of developing brain tumour/s from long term, high usage of Bluetooth earpods, which pull EMF waves into your head next to your brain. Scientific research is not yet conclusive. But I would not be at all surprised if smartphone manufacturers, in the future, are subjected to class actions because their products have caused brain tumours.
So here, RIGHT NOW, is the smartphone I've been hanging out for the last several years!!! Earphone jack, stereo audio, expandable storage (my 3 deal makers) PLUS amazing camera! After having bought Samsung phones since 2006 I'm now switching to Sony to buy the Xperia I V.
Thank you Sony!!! (even though you've pulled out of Australia).

          Sony Xperia 1 V is better then iPhone 15 Pro Max in camera department even without Dolby Vision and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra but perhaps behind Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

              The buyer for this phone does not want to shoot at 12mpx, it's simply not enough for a bigger screen. The buyer for this phone will also not replace his sony mirrorless camera with a phone, they want to replace their point and shoot which they will not be buying anyway because they never carry it with them. I returned my Sony because the shortcomings at this price are not excusable.
              If the res issue alone did not exist I would not have returned it but I would also not mind if the sensor was a bit a bigger and if you let me put the back button on the right. I'm happy for those who like gestures, I don't.

                        given their unsolved after sales support which has been very since the beginning of time, Sony should have given their customers a bit of consolation by lowering their price and not follow Apple's stupidity by removing charging brick in the box.

                                Worst brand ever in terms of services and battery heat and screen is very dim compared to even midrange phones from top brands in the market. Now with its hefty price and following the stupidity of Apple by removing charging brick adds to its problem. Never again to this brand!

                                    one of the worst phone
                                    sorry, worst phone you can get at this price.
                                    1. camera, and app:
                                    - a few time i try to open the open app and the phone only show me blank screen
                                    - in camera apps, if notification come in, it will cost the whole image to shake
                                    -i purchased this device, for the camera. The main camera is some what ok, but the wide angle and telephoto is meh... . Especially telephoto, the image is soft af.
                                    i mean for real, how sony dare to publish such expensive phone taking such poor image.

                                    weak gps and connectivity:
                                    -always searching for gps while using navigation app
                                    -same place, different phone, other phone's data running but my device show no signal

                                    battery consumption:
                                    -can't even last thru out my working hour

                                    Battery and Heating Issue :
                                    -During Charging, top left of the phone feel hot
                                    -connecting to android auto will also cause the phone heat up
                                    -same charger, my old phone manage to charge the battery up but this phone just drain the power away (weak power management)

                                    Lack of Apps:
                                    -no built in compass, altitude meter, nor note apps.

                                    preventing accidental touch:
                                    -does this even functioning? every time i put my phone in the pocket, the phone just ghost click on its own, keep on clicking the passcode, turning my phone into airplane mode etc.

                                    Lack of Configuration:
                                    -the phone dont give you much control about your phone, like intensity of the vibration
                                    which vibrate like want to tear itself apart when i place it on wooden table
                                    but seem to be soften after update. still unavailable to adjust the intensity by myself tho

                                    Conclusion:
                                    Such a disappointment for Sony with this price tag. Expected to be more stable, better camera, and better battery management from battery. I just wish to get a stable phone and able to last me a few years of usage. Turned out they just throw out a gimmicky stuff like optical telephoto zoom and such bad experience for handphone part. Regret for such purchase and seeking for others brands phone as replacement already.
                                    Now I know that sony is good for enthusiast product like headset (I owned wh1000 xm 3 & 5, a6000 apsc camera) but for a combined product like this, I will try to avoid at any cost in the future.

                                        Can someone give me advice. I am using the Japanese version of this phone. The resolution is not 4k, its HD plus. I bought it from Amazon for 1k USD. Netflix, Disney and Disney plus do not have 4k options for this device. What is going on? Does anyone have any idea? I have checked out the resolution using various android software, but it's never 4k. Otherwise all the other features check out.
