Gsmarena calling 15cm 180g compact lightweight shows how large phones have become.
5-8 year ago, 180g and 15cm were very large/heaviest.
I remember my redmi note 4, it felt huge back then.

I think you should have mentioned the xiaomi 12 lite as a competitor for this poco
They are now close in price and the overall package is kinda close 12 lite more camera focused specially for selfie but f5 more focus on being a powerhouse

Alex 94, 13 May 2023There are many examples. I tested many phones.Well, not to disregard your testing but in my admittedly limited experience, both Samsung and Realme budget phones give up way earlier in their life cycle than xiaomi phones.

Deanie, 13 May 2023Great review, thanks GSMARENA. Might have deserved a slight... more870 was a very good choice also considering the problems with 888 and 8.1. Powerful enough, very consistent. 4 series was a let down due to the ugliness compared to F3 witch is still very good looking phone.

Nika Boy, 13 May 2023Oh don't forget a54 have a revolutionary big bezels al... moreYeah Samsung deserve to be called out on the super lazy design of the entire A series for 2023. Enormous bezels and overall size for a 6.4" on the A54 - looks and feels like a TONKA toy for 3 year old.

Great review, thanks GSMARENA. Might have deserved a slightly higher rating. Maybe.
Xiaomi knocked it out of the park this time (for a pleasant change). Delivered on design, build quality, minimal + symmetrical bezels, slim and lightweight for the screen dimensions, excellent near flagship display, decent runtimes and impressive performance from the new SD chip.
Also for a change it doesn't seem outrageously overpriced, considering the overall package. Sure the cameras are ho him, but that was always the case with Poco.
Obliterates the grotesquely bloated and overweight Samsung A54 with its sloppy and lazy design - on everything apart from cameras, support horizon and IP rating.
Nice to see Xiaomi back on form after a couple of disappointing years for their mid range phones.

Could any other Poco F5 owner plug theirs into a "slow" charger and see if their phone gets pretty hot? I have experienced this when using the super fast chargers on previous devices but not this one.
"system_server" and "zygote64" processes are the culprits of it but I am not sure how to resolve.
Just wonderful on a brand new device, I hope Xiaomi fixes it soon.

Yoedi16, 13 May 2023No identity when using stock android and is boring AF, not ... moreI never like custom skin since first time. I always hoped that Android is just "open-distributable" since Day 1 like Windows (you're not allowed to change the internal codes including something that related to UI) and not "open-source" like Android nowadays, so Android's UI can always looks the same no matter what brand it is, make it easier for anyone to switch from this brand to that brand. I always use my Android on that "boring" way. Yes, I don't use additional features like Themes, Edge Panels, Video Toolbox, etc. Let's be honest, I also don't like Xiaomi's new Control Center, and when I got my new Xiaomi device, I always revert this Control Center to the older one that feels more "all-in-one" like what we got on Stock.
