Superb hardware at a reasonable price, completely, and I mean completely ruined by MIUI. That's all.

Worst OS in existence. Well, Android 13 is great, but what Xiaomi have done to it.

Even with 12GB of RAM and no heavy apps, no games MIUI still kills apps and apps set to that like no tomorrow. Even music apps (Youtube music). Pointless waste of battery power and user data entry etc to keep relaunching apps.

Zuzuz, 15 May 2023Those are there. Yes, but you're not reading my messages correctly. Pocket mode doesn't work at all. I tested it next to a Pixel 7, but I have used smartphones for many years so I think I'd know how pocket mode works by now.

The Poco F5 is a buggy mess, I've returned mine.

What a shame. Such a promising device that doesn't have 512gb internal storage or Micro SD card.

I am a bit sceptical about GSMArena comment of the camera performance during the day in this review. Most of the pictures taken in daylight conditions were with some cloud cover (which is usually not the case when GSMArena test phones) and the foliage rendition is very nice, with lot of details. On the other hand, studio "Good light - studio setup" image implies somewhat extensive oversharpening. Therefore, I would not jump into conclusion because it seems that the image processing algorithm handles sharpening differently in different lighting situations.

I just don't get your battery scores. For example in the case of this review of the Poco F5. It has a score of 118. Two phones down in your little excerpt comparison list in the review is a phone that's better (in part significantly!) in all three test scenarios, yet it only gets a score of 108 hours. I've seen inconsistencies like this all over the place. How do you explain that?

For example, I have a phone automation app installed on my MIUI-powered phone, and such apps are very intensive in terms of phone resources and functions, and I've never had any problems with MIUI whatsoever.

MIUI has a very aggressive behavior built in when it comes to killing apps in the background. My spare Motorola which runs basically vanilla android doesn't have such issues.

Alex 94, 14 May 2023Probably not, cause i dont use same phone 4 years 😘I doubt that. Even good old phones works. Manufacturers basically don't kill phones, its the Google Android OS keeps updating making very old devices useless. Apps & developers are updating to offer great and exciting new features from time to time and that requires additional resources and new capable hardware. It is what it is.

Zuzuz, 15 May 2023That's what happens when you put high taxes on everything There's inflation so this is expected. Materials costs more now. One company can't keep too much compromises just to lower the selling price. It will be a bad business decision.
