    Zuzuz, 23 May 2023This 3.9 must be a joke. It has better display(1.5k and bri... moreIt also has TERRIBLE software (in terms of usability, bugginess, and longevity of support) and is worse value relative to its price than the normal F5 is relative to its price as well.

    GSMArena is right, why should you get this over a Pixel 7 that will destroy it in camera performance, or an S22 that still has 2x longer software support than this POCO (and all three phones have seemingly equal thermal longevity performance)? If you need a portable device for gaming, why not just get the F5 and use the savings to get a Steam Deck?

If Omni... moreIt's a mix of the sensor, isp (snapdragon, or mediatek, or custom isp for the likes of Vivo or Oppo on some phones) and the brands software optimisation so there is no clear answer. The upper limits though are to some extent determined by the sensor used and isp. For sensors given a sensor of the same size and specifications I think most would prefer Sony. However, Omnivision also has some very good sensors and a top Omnivision sensor is also going to be really good. It's just that we haven't even seen the latest top Omnivision sensors in any phones yet as they are very expensive and most manufacturers will go for Sony sensors when picking the very top expensive ones. After all it's better for marketing the phone regardless of which sensor is actually better

                  Typo mistake by gsmarena: "The ultrawide camera is still 8MP and uses Sony's IMX355 sensor"

                  F5 Pro uses Omnivision OV08D10 ultrawide sensor instead of the Sony IMX355 on the F5.

                    Thanks for the review, guess i will go for F4 or F5 on Hot Sale! Or wait for another better deal phone. Tired of Using MI 11 Lite 5G NE with it´s screen issues.

                      I don't get this 3.9 score... And the competition pricing is off. First, all of the competitors have 128 GB memory, Poco has double. So if we level this up, they are not a bargain. And if you compare Poco and Samsung, it should be S22+ becouse of the screen size.

                            This 3.9 must be a joke. It has better display(1.5k and brighter), wireless charging, bigger battery, glass back, better chipset, but still has a lower score than F5. Strange!

                              3 prototypes of same phone. Phone 1 has sony imx890, phone 2 has samsung gn5 and phone 3 has omnivision ov50a. All behind se lenses.
                              They are all 50MP 1/1.56" quadbayer.

                              You will barely notice difference between jpegs. But if you like to use dng, then imx890 is going to give you way better files.

                              Now when sony starts to ship exmor T to everybody ( probably just end of 2024), it is game over. The other two will have to pay whatever sony wants to license this new tech or lose clients. Sony has 51% of mobile market, samsung barely above 20.

                                Since when UD biometry is any advantage?

                                  Is ISP the determining factor for image quality?

                                  If Omnivision sensor can produce better images when paired with Snapdragon ISP, do sensors from Sony like IMX766 matter? Or Sony sensors really excel when compared to OV?

                                    Poco f5 is better deal. More premium look, bezel less build, cheaper. Other devices better than this for me and besides this in text are: Pixel 6 pro, Motorola Edge 30 Pro, Realme GT3.

                                      [deleted post]Tbf, they even note the F5 gets you 90% of this phone so I'm not surprised.
