3rd day owning this beauty, sooooo happy with the camera. Not only the quality, but the features are overwhelmingly plenty! I can get supercreative that over 80% of my battery is only for the camera. It's still using China ROM, which is why I haven't fully utilized it. Next monday I'll be allowed to unlock the bootloader to install EU ROM to finally migrate from my 4+ years old Mi 9.

    Best phone I have used till date

      Gnusmas, 31 Aug 2023as a Xiaomi user for 4 years i can say that MIUI sucksCouldn’t agree more.

      I was actually quite supportive of Xiaomi, way back from their humble Redmi 1. Back then, they were a promising underdog with best value for the money. But after all these years, they simply focus only on spec on paper, while the quality of their software is just barely adequate. Fast forward in 2023, MIUI looks outdated, still full of stupid bugs, and feels even clumsier than their old versions as Xiaomi has zero vision and simply tries to copy iOS look, but without the fine tuning.

      So I would only recommend Xiaomi phones for custom ROM users, as you get good spec for the money. For everybody else, even Oppo ColorOS feels more refined and less buggy, and I don’t even like BBK. But I’ll pick ColorOS or FuntouchOS anytime over MIUI.

        davidletterboyz, 04 Sep 2023Where did you get the info that the main sensor is cropped?And 0.9x camera you can see if you decide to use the zoom wheel, you will see that the switch from the main camera to the ultrawide one is done at the 0.8x point on 0.9x camera take shot from main sensor with 21 equivalent focal length.

See exif and get equivalent focal length divide actual focal length and you get crop factor, then you 43.3 divide on crop factor and you see effective sensor diagonal. And actually all 1 inch cameras have 8.7 actual focal length. 13 pro have 7.79 but equivalent focal length still 23mm, okay, let's calculate again: suze of imx989 is 13.11x9.83, diagonal is √(13,11^(2)+9,83^(2))=16.38mm, crop factor is 43.3/16.38=2.64, so equivalent focal length, with 7.79 actual focal length is 7.79x2.64=20.56mm not 23mm. And actually on 0.9x camera

Been a MIUI user since 2014 (Mi 2S), I found that MIUI is the best Android skin ever. Why? Because I like tinkering. I have set up my MIUI to my liking, setting which apps can run where for how long, etc. Basically every phone change is just a MIUI migration so I keep all of those settings intact. I tried custom ROMs several times and I always find those missing features. For instance, I want Quora to really close when I close it, not running in the background, as that app is badly coded it will drain the battery of practically any device. I can do that with MIUI, so far no other custom ROMs can do that, I don't know about the other UIs.

                        My sincere request to all please don't buy this phone. During summer vacation of my kids have planned to visit Kashmir with my and for that i bought this phone after so much of searching in net i found this would be best for me for my YouTube channel as music video which will give me 4k and 6k video but this phone has stopped twice in one month and now it's totally dead after 45 days. All my data has gone ,videos and photos

                          Can you share long exposure shots in jpg or RAW? The combination of ISO and shutter speed with the Sony IMX 989.

                                Apps killed in background? Keep pushing on the app and select No Restrictions in menu.
                                Ram memory not showing? Look at the right corner above in your recent apps screen.
                                Screen on Time? Since Android 13 the SOT is under settings> Digital Welbeing....

                                Best device I have ever had and Miui is great once you discover it. No bugs so far on 13 Ultra.

                                    Main camera cropped. There 1/1.1", if we calculate 23/7.79=2.95 is crop factor, so 43.3/2.95=14.67mm sensor diagonal(crop from 16.4mm) and 16/14.67=1.1 so it's 1/1.1" effective sensor area.
