OnePlus 11 long-term review

I came from a Samsung S21 and honestly the OnePlus11 has been a fantastic phone. Build quality, battery life, screen, software updates, performance, charging speeds and camera performance are all well above average or fantastic. Hard to complain at all. It's a phone that just as the review said, just works and is ready to go all day long. It's unique enough to stand out in the market and not just another iPhone or Samsung. And with the top tier processor and ram packed in it with 5 years of security updates it's a phone that will last you a long time without worry

I haven't had that auto brightness issue, though. Seems to work really well. Good review overall; camera is great, but not the best one out there. Battery life is great, but not the best again. What helps is the ridiculously fast charging. OS is lovely, better than older OOS versions - especially if you talk about smoothness. My 6T and 8T weren't this smooth (especially not while running OOS11!), but 8T got close with OOS 12 and 13/13.1.
I highly recommend this phone, if you don't need the best camera out there and want an extremely smooth phone. I got mine for less than 600 euros this summer, making it a fantastic purchase.

David, 15 Sep 2023I was considering buying this phone but the whole OS thing ... moreThen it sounds you dont use "android chinese phones".
I mean ive literally owned and used a pixel 6 pro, one of THE WORST experiences you can have on android, its not as smooth as say huawei or oppo on flagship phones and has half the feature set with really weird setting placements and ui design eith very little gesture or shortcut choices.
I currently have the oppo find x5, get constant monthly updates, has some very nice extra options to play with and is far more fluid than the pixel ever was and far more enjoyable to use (and i can have the stock look or basically however i want because they let me).
Huawei is a balance of iphone style and android and gets it basically spot on, xiaomi probably gives you the most customisation, if you want it... You can have it as a stock android experience but it'll perform better than OSes that are based on being stock (again pixels and its awful, having to spend 10 mintues finding things just to realise it hasnt got the setting or layout opitions is crazy), oppo has some nice quirks with the likes of the vibration motor/ringtones, nice settings layout and very customisable drop down menu that can have pretty much any switch you want.
They dont buy them coz samsung and apple have complete domination of the western markets, its that simple. They produce more devices, they spend far more on advertisments/ pay for more and bigger endorsements and in north american market, very little competition is willing/able to sell in.
Also higher prices? I can get an oppo find x6 pro for between s23/23+ money, its like this for every other brand vs samsung and apple who, by far, are the worst offenders of price (especially when you miss almost £100 of extras in the box aswell).

What about green light issue? Cracked back glass on green variant? Why these reviews don not cover major issues with devices?

In India, OnePlus does come with a case (albeit a plastic one) and a screen protector.

The Auto brightness is absolutely SPOT ON on the OnePlus 11. Either your device has some issues or you have been a handed a lemon.

Seriously, I mean this phone is cruelly underrated. I get the fact that the S23 (base variant) and prolly even the S23+ are quite closely priced to the 11's 16GB variant, but, speaking from experience (using the phone for the 4th month running and having a colleague who owns an S23+, except for the camera, the OnePlus 11 is slightly better across all parameters. I don't know why some people (Samsung fanboys especially) keep claiming the OneUI is fAr bEtTeR than Oxygen OS- that's not true. Quite a subjective issue IMHO, but I find them to be on equal parlance. As for the cameras, the 11 is just so slightly behind the S23 plus; however I find the night shots to be tad better than the plus. Everything else, the OnePlus is ahead. Now speaking for the other competition, the Vivo X90 pro and iqoo 11 might be better for some, but the iqoo does not offer the level of sophistication (from an overall software experience perspective) that the 11 does (not to mention iqoo's inferior security patch timeframe as compared to the 11) and the Vivo falls down in the chipset department (no questions there). The one single factor that clinches it for OnePlus 11 is that it is a jack of all trades but a master of none. It's a device that does what you ask of it. The VFM champion of the flagship killer category

Oneplus 11 has 2x telephoto lens (tpl). Even Oneplus 7 Pro had 3x tpl. Now I use Xiaomi 13 Pro with 3.2x tpl. If there ever was a Oneplus 11 Pro with 3x tpl, I would've bought it. This was the only reason I did not buy Oneplus 11. And also that recent Oneplus phones tend to break/bend crack easily due to camera island design flaw.

WiseWolf, 15 Sep 2023Well, I would urge people to not buy Oneplus anymore. My OP... moreI kept my Oneplus 9 on OOS 12 for fear of getting display lines after update that affected plenty of users. Sold the phone a few months ago and gave the new owner a warning of update to OOS 13 at his own risk.
Other than the anxiety at every software update and quite average battery life, I was quite satisfied with the phone. Mine was EU model so it got wireless charging and literally no bloatware.

if i remember correctly their first phone was sold based on an invite code? and you could get a code from someone who already bought one? i was like dafuq man? should i beg for the privilege to buy a oneplus phone?
then their second phone was like if you're a girl you can buy one. or something like this. i remember reading some bullshit on their forums.
so. i thought, man.. this world is full of phones. why would i bother? and never gave a 2nd thought bout oneplus. don't think i ever will. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have used it for over 4 months now, while a good phone it's just not comfortable in the hand and because of that I went back to my old Moto G200. I am planning on trading it in for OnePlus 12 for the bigger battery. I got a good deal on the current one from Best Buy anyway.

Well, I would urge people to not buy Oneplus anymore. My OP11 literally died while sitting idle on a table. This isn't new either, Oneplus phones have been known to give birth to problems like motherboard failure and display line issues. So save your money and invest in a better place.
